What types of emails do you receive regarding your job or studies?

I am studying for a law degree and need to read many documents on different topics related to articles of my country’s constitution. The emails I receive usually come with attachments, texts in PDF format and some in Word.

Do you prefer to communicate with your friends by email, phone, or text message?

Email is an excellent tool for work or school, as it is more formal and even conventional. But to send a friend of mine a message, I prefer WhatsApp messenger because it is more direct and instant. And there are also all the tools for decorating your messages, like emojis.

Do you respond to emails and messages instantly when you receive them?

I often forget to check messages in my inbox because email is not a priority. My teachers are sometimes upset because most of my classmates fail to open assignments they send by email. So they send us WhatsApp messages to notify us about emails.

Do you like getting emails that advertise items?

Not really. My day consists of downloading information that teachers send me every day. Most of the emails are very long texts that I must read and analyze. That’s why advertising messages bother me a lot because they invade my email inbox, and I have to delete them all the time.

What type of transportation do you usually (or, most often) use?

I use buses, trams, the subway, and taxis or an Uber. I use whatever gets me to where I’m going the fastest. But I guess I have used Uber more than any other transportation option recently.

Do you think transportation costs are expensive where you live?

I would say so. I find it cheapest to take the bus, and a monthly pass is a little over $100. Gas prices are steadily rising, which makes using my car daily more expensive. And taxis are becoming more expensive too, so many people use rideshare apps because they’re often cheaper. If you travel every day like me, transportation costs can quickly add up!

In your country, is transportation in big cities the same as transportation in smaller towns and villages?

There is a huge difference in the frequency of buses. If you miss a bus in a village, you might wait an hour for the next one. But in cities, buses come every 20 minutes or so, if not more frequently during rush hour or late at night. Cities also have a variety of different types of transportation, like taxis, buses, trams, trains, rideshares, and so on. Overall, transportation is better and more varied in big cities than in smaller towns and villages.

One mistake that stands out to me happened during my final year of university. I was working on a group project for one of my major courses, and we were tasked with presenting a comprehensive report.

The mistake I made was underestimating the time required for our research and preparation. I thought we could easily pull everything together at the last minute, especially since I had done well in similar projects before. This was in early March, and we had a month to complete it, but I procrastinated and didn’t contribute as much as I should have during the initial weeks.

When the deadline approached, I realized that I hadn’t done enough research or prepared my part of the presentation. I rushed to catch up, but my lack of preparation showed during the presentation itself. I stumbled over my points and felt unprepared, which affected not only my performance but also the overall effectiveness of the group’s presentation.

This mistake had a significant impact on me. I felt embarrassed and disappointed in myself, especially since my group members had worked hard and counted on me. It taught me a valuable lesson about time management and the importance of collaborating effectively in a team setting. Since then, I’ve made it a priority to plan ahead and communicate openly with my peers to avoid similar situations.

What do you think are common mistakes people make?

Common mistakes often include poor time management, miscommunication, and taking on too much responsibility without asking for help. Many people, especially students and young professionals, struggle with balancing their commitments and can easily become overwhelmed.

How can people learn from their mistakes?

People can learn from their mistakes by reflecting on what went wrong and identifying ways to improve in the future. Keeping a journal or discussing experiences with others can also help. It’s important to view mistakes as opportunities for growth rather than just failures.

Do you think mistakes are necessary for personal growth?

Yes, I believe mistakes are essential for personal growth. They teach us important lessons and encourage us to develop resilience. Overcoming challenges helps build character and improves our problem-solving skills.

How do you usually feel after making a mistake?

After making a mistake, I often feel a mix of disappointment and motivation. Initially, there’s frustration, but I quickly remind myself that it’s a part of learning. I try to focus on how I can do better next time, which helps me turn a negative experience into a constructive one.
