IELTS Speaking Test

Do you like animals?

Personally, I only like the company of friendly species such as dogs, cats, and birds. I feel they are man’s companions, and keeping them as pets will assist me in discharging emotional distress.

What’s your favorite animal? Why?

Dogs, undoubtedly. Currently, I am overseeing two pets. When I return from work, they are always there to receive me at the entrance. Additionally, they help me feel better when I’m feeling low. Therefore, I adore dogs.

Are people in your country fond of animals?

In fact, no. Unfortunately, this is the reality. Instead of respecting animals, the majority like abusing them and capturing images to share with others or post on Facebook.

What kinds of animals as pets do people have in your country?

Like other nations, we often keep dogs and cats as pets. This is because these animals are domesticated and simple to coexist with.

Do you think cities are suitable places for keeping a pet?

No, I don’t think so. This is because dogs’ health may be negatively impacted by the heavy traffic and development in urban areas as pets are more likely to get hurt in traffic or to have trouble finding adequate play places.

Do children in your country like animals?

Yes. Kids love having dogs and cats as pets because they are friendly and their hair is soft and comforting to touch. These creatures are safe for them to cuddle and play with.

What kind of animals do you think children like?

For me, it all simply comes down to their individual traits. Most kids like cat and dog companionship because they are so playful and free-spirited. On the other hand, there are kids who just can’t get enough of the birds’ chirpy songs. Furthermore, there will always be those who find pleasure in torturing or humiliating animals.

What was your favorite animal when you were a child?

There was no doubt in my mind that I was a dog person. If I recall correctly, whenever my parents got into a fight, I would walk outside and play with a dog named Kiki who belonged to our next-door neighbors. To get away from the tension, I’d choose to do that. This is why I have grown to love dogs so much and why I now have a dog by that same name.

Did you have any pets when you were a child?

No, alas. Because of their fear for my safety, my parents wouldn’t let me get a pet.

What do you think are the benefits of a child having a pet?

Well, there are many positive outcomes that come with having a pet at home with your kids. They may learn to demonstrate affection for other animals by embracing and petting them. They may even be capable of pitching in around the home by doing things like feeding or walking with the family pet.

If you have children in the future, will you allow them to keep a pet?

Obviously, Yes. Having a pet may help a youngster grow up healthier and more responsible, I think. Pets may become a person’s companion and a source of comfort just by sharing their home with them.

Why do some people keep pets at home?

Definitely, there are many good reasons to share your home with a furry friend, but I believe one of the most compelling is that pets are really an augmentation of our families. When someone is feeling down or exhausted, they may help reduce tension and lift their spirits. This is why many people consider their cats and dogs to be part of the family.

What kinds of animals do you like?

When it comes to birds, I’m interested in them all. In my opinion, they are breathtakingly gorgeous and charming creatures. Some of them may even be nasty, but just watching them can be a really soothing pastime.

Have you ever had a pet before?

In the past, I’ve had a bulldog, gifted by one of my friends. It was something I’d had for almost a year before it was taken from me. It was such a dreadful experience to lose such a treasured partner that I swore off ever owning a pet again after that.

Do you like to see animals in the zoo?

If I’m being really honest, the answer is no; I always feel bad for the animals in the cages. Despite the fact that they are well-fed and cared, these animals miss out on the freedoms they would have in their natural world.

I am usually prompt and proactive when it comes to keeping appointments whether these appointments are with family/friends or complete strangers. But, then I am also a human, and I do forget to keep my appointments once in a while. Today, I would like to talk about one such appointment which I had with one of my friends but then completely forgot.

IELTS Speaking Test

It was about six months ago when my good friend had asked me to take him to the airport in my car and pick up his uncle at around 6:00 pm. Seeing that both my friend and the airport were within a short distance from my office, I didn’t have a reason for not helping out my friend on that Monday evening. So, as soon as my good friend asked that little favour from me, I immediately agreed.

But, before promising my friend to help him pick up his uncle, I totally forgot that Monday was always the busiest day at my office since it is the first day in the office after the weekend. So, I kept working and working on that day until I suddenly noticed on my watch that it was already 5:30 pm, and I couldn’t even finish 70 per cent of my scheduled tasks for the day.

Of course, I still had 30 minutes left to keep my appointment, but then I thought that it wouldn’t be such a wise idea since there always was a risk of getting stuck in bad traffic and miss the appointment. So, I immediately called my friend and explained to him the situation while also providing him with a phone number to call a taxi driver who lived closed to my friend.

Anyway, it was equally a frustrating and awkward situation for both of us. I could even feel some anger, and very rightly so, in my friend, but when I explained to him about a very busy Monday office day, and how I completely forgot about it before making that appointment with him, he finally got convinced that I wasn’t being careless at all and that I genuinely wanted to help him.
