IELTS SPEAKING INTERVIEW

PART – 1 INTRO

What is your full name?

My name is Gurleend Kaur.

How may I address you?

You may address me as Guleend.

Do you wear jeans?

Yes, I do. I usually wear jeans made with stretch fabric, because I am always chasing comfort and ease of movement. I can’t stand feeling trapped in my clothes. Always be comfortable so your light can shine.

How often do you wear jeans?

On a daily basis, I guess. I wear jeans with commitment and obsession. I really give them a workout. I tend to choose a pair that I like, then wear them every single day, until they feel like an extension of my body. I just can’t break the habit of choosing jeans as my main outfit of the day.

Do you like wearing jeans, why?

Yes, I do love wearing jeans a lot. I wear jeans because they are convenient. They go with everything, and are perfectly versatile. I travel often, and I like to pack light, so jeans are a great staple for mixing and matching.

Have you ever met a celebrity in real life?

Yes. I have seen Amitabh Bachan in the airport. But I didn’t make any effort to get an autograph from him. Sometimes I happen to sit next to film stars when I travel by air when they take the economy class. But I have not volunteered to talk to them.

Who is your favourite movie star?

Well, I’m a fan of Aishwarya Rai. She is a versatile actress, and I admired her from the very first movie. She is worth the Miss Universe title. My admiration increased after I watched her performance in the movie ‘Taal’.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Life is a roller-coaster journey, and change is a constant. Every day, we all make changes in our lives. In addition, I have made numerous adjustments in my life. So, now I’d want to discuss about a recent beneficial development in my life.

This adjustment is about making better use of one’s time. I used to be a slacker, putting no focus on time management. As a result, the majority of my job was either postponed or left undone.

But then I came upon an article in the New York Times about Effective Time Management. The author clearly discussed the benefits of time management and how it might improve someone’s life.

The author piqued my interest. As he stated, time is the most valuable commodity on the planet. We have the money to acquire gold and silver, but not the time. As a result, I started preparing a to-do list before going to bed and doing my best to complete it the next day.

This has radically altered my life. Now that I have more time, I can devote it to anything. I have time for hobbies and even visits from my siblings, who have constantly complained about my absence.

So, in the end, I can say that this has actually changed my life for the better.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS

1. Is your country changing rapidly?

Yes, India is changing at a record speed. Being a developing country, it has more potential to grow with the penetration of science and technology. For instance, More and more cities are becoming Smart, improving the quality of life of the citizens through technology to provide exceptional results. Furthermore, India has made significant improvements in almost all international rankings and indices in recent years.

2. How is your country changing?

My country is changing rapidly on almost every front. Economically, India is already the world’s third-largest economy by purchasing power parity ($8.9 trillion) and the fifth-largest at current exchange rates. The health sector has also witnessed some positive changes which include an increase in the number of hospitals and medical colleges, more number of doctors and nurses, easy availability of medicines etc. Along with these, India has also developed itself as a self-sufficient nation in terms of defence.

3. Do you believe that the changes your country went through are positive?

Most changes happening in India are generally positive in nature. Take the example of ‘Ease of Doing Business’ rankings, our rankings have improved from 142 to a historic high of 77 in four years. The changes are largely due to a new style of governance and are often visible in interesting ways.

4. Do you think change is good?

Change allows us to move forward in life and experience new and exciting things. So I definitely believe that change is good. Life might become stagnant if you do not actively concentrate on evolving yourself. Being open to change, gaining new skills, or working on your inner self might result in transformations you never imagined possible.
