
Easy steps to Prepare for IELTS Exam
IELTS basically is an English proficiency test. So this test is designed to check your English level and how you do conversation with native speaker in English. This test is divided into four sections reading, listening, speaking and writing. So each these section tries to assess a particular skill in the students. To get good scores you need to prepare for the exam months before you appear in the exam. In today’s article we will discuss some easy steps to prepare IELTS Exam.
1. In the reading section examiner trying to see whether you are capable to understand what is written and your ability to comprehend Witten text. Depending on which type of IELTS you are taking either for the purpose of studying abroad or for the purpose of working and settling down abroad i.e. IELTS academic and IELTS general training Depending on the purpose you will be given a certain type of test. IELTS academic test is usually taken by the students who want to study abroad. However, the general training test is for those who are applying for work visa or PR. In both there are different test papers. But the irrespective of these differences the reading test is of 60 minute test for both academic and general students. In this test you will have to read approximately 3000 words worth of passages and you need to answer 40 questions. So, the examiner want to check your ability of read something by this module. For this module, you need to maintain your focus on particular question. Also, try to read the some magazines, newspapers, articles to improve your reading skill.
2. The next module is writing. In this test basically your ability to communicate in the written form is checked. In this you will again have 60 minutes to complete your task. In which irrespective of whether you are doing academic or general writing. You will be given the two tasks and the types of tasks are different for general and academic. But, in both you have only two tasks. In this module examiner will be trying to assess your ability to write in a way that is clear and communicates easily whatever you are thinking in the written text. So your ability to convert your thoughts into writing and to clearly organize it in a way that is understandable will be judged. In this module you need to write the 400 words which you divide into two tasks. The word limit is set by the test taker. For the writing section, you need to be clear for your opinions which you will be explaining in tasks. Moreover, you need to learn more and more vocabulary and need to work on grammar.
3. The listening module is easier than others. It could be in 30 minutes. There are four parts which you will listen and you will have 10 questions in each section. However, the purpose of this section is to see the comfortable listening to multiple accents. So all the audios will be of native English speakers and you need to identify what the speaker is saying. Listening recording is played just once. After completing the four sections you will get 10 minutes to transfer your answers to an answer sheet. For this module, you need to improve your hearing power and concentration. When the audio will be playing they give some time to read the questions. You should utilize that time to understand the questions and know about what they asking for? And need to underline the keywords.
4. The speaking test usually takes 15 to 20 minutes. In which you do the face to face conversation with examiner. This test is divided into three parts. The examiner put some basic questions to you. And they focus on your grammar, fluency, lexical resources and pronunciations. In this test you will express your thoughts with formal way. To improve your speaking skill, you need to do the conversation with your friends, family in English. Also, you can record yourself. In this way you can check your mistakes and you can do some efforts to make it clearer.
