Look for significant data; e.g. The highest the lowest etc.
Try and group the data. This may require candidates to use some general knowledge about the world, such as recognizing developed and devolving countries

Sentences

The figure of 1999 is almost three times more than 2010.
The figure of 2011 is exactly four time less than 2010.
It is clear that the figures between 2001 and 2010 are broadly in the same range.

Grouping

The figures between 1999 and 2000 are very similar to those of prior year.
The figures in column A and B are almost identical.

Example related to future tense (2035)

It is estimated that in the 20 years from 2015, the total population of the UK will grow by almost 10 million from 64.8 million in 2015 to 73.2 million in 2035.
