Usually in both task1 and task2 there is always a word limit like in task2 essay the word limit is of 250 words. So, you should not be writing more than your limit or even less than the limit. In both the scenarios your score will get deducted.
When you start practicing for your IELTS writing essay task make sure to be in the limit don’t over exceed it. As, its better to practice the way it should be so, that you get into the habit of writing in the limit.
IELTS Writing Tip #4: Use Proper Vocabulary
If you use proper vocabulary than it will help your redundancy of the words. Proper vocabulary helps you make impression on the examiner. Make sure youare not using the same words multiple times in the paragraphs. This will decrease your score as your paragraph will look very monotonous.
In some cases, test takers use lexical resources that is unusual and uncommon vocabulary words which is good thing but make sure you don’t prolong the sentence thinking that theexaminer will be impressed but keep in mind that you don’t exceed the word limit. If word limit is exceeding it your scores will get deducted. Use of good vocabulary is important to reduce the redundancy.

Make sure that the style of your writing is going to be formal and free from any sort of abbreviations and slangs words like “Don’t” “won’t” “She’s” etc.Try to write as formal as you can instead of writing a casual piece.

One of the most crucial thing is to take care is Time management in the IELTS writing test. It is very important in the writing test to keep an eye on the time. Remember that you will only get an hour for finishing two tasks. Don’t spend too long on any question, if you don’t know the answer if case you have extra time left than come and try to figure out the answer.

In IELTS writing, you are being judged on quality rather than quantity. Moreover, focus on making the answer the best it can be rather delivering the longest one. Don’t forget to allocate time for planning and checking.
This is the best tip on IELTS writing task 1 as well as task 2. Don’t write too short answers or too long. You must answer the question properly, you must provide at least 150 words in part 1 and 250 words in part 2. However, if your answer is less than these totals, you will lose marks for providing an improper answer and remember have to do both task1 and task2 in one hour.
