In today’s globe, it is evident that a great number of energy resources, such as oil and natural gas, are in high demand. As a result, drilling for these resources has become an important source of income for individuals all over the world. At the same time, this phenomena has put additional strain on the global ecosystem. As a result, I am certain that the drawbacks of this phenomena exceed the benefits.
It is undeniable that the exploitation of natural resources such as oil and gas has several benefits, such as the industrial revolution, which will also assist residents find jobs. Oil has a high energy density and is readily available to create numerous types of energy. Furthermore, drilling for oil from the earth generates greater fuel supply. As a consequence, gasoline prices are reduced. Overall, these natural resources contribute to the country’s economic growth and long-term development.
The major problem of exploiting these resources is that they will significantly harm the ecosystem. Furthermore, the extraction of natural resources has negative environmental consequences such as global warming and climate change. Excessive usage of fossil fuels, oil and gas extraction cause a rise in global temperatures that affects green spaces. As a result, exploitation of green areas and drilling for natural resources will endanger humanity as more and more illnesses spread faster, hurting human health. As a result of human activity, the environment will be disrupted.
To restate, while the extraction of natural resources has some advantages, it also has a number of disadvantages for the environment that exceed the advantages. As a result, in my opinion, mankind should cease exploring unexplored countries for natural resources and instead look for alternate sources.
