Yes, I know quite a few celebrities, especially from the film and sports industries. While I haven’t met them personally, I follow their work and lives through interviews, social media, and the news.

Which celebrity do you know the most about?

I probably know the most about Virat Kohli, the famous Indian cricketer. I’ve followed his career for years — from his early days to becoming the captain of the Indian team. I admire his discipline, fitness, and leadership skills.

As a child, I was absolutely fascinated by elephants. I found them gentle, intelligent, and majestic. I used to love watching them in documentaries and even collected elephant toys.

One recent situation where I had to make a quick decision was just a couple of weeks ago when I was travelling to a nearby city for a job interview. I had booked a train that was supposed to leave at 8:30 in the morning. However, due to unexpected traffic on the way, I reached the station just a minute before departure.

As I was rushing toward the platform, I noticed another train about to leave — this one was an express train to the same city but cost almost double the fare and had no seat reservation. I had to decide within seconds whether to board it or wait for the next available train, which would have made me late for my interview.

I chose to hop on the express train, despite the higher fare and lack of comfort. Thankfully, I reached the city 40 minutes earlier than expected, had time to prepare myself mentally, and performed really well in the interview. A few days later, I got a call saying I had been selected!

So, although it was a bit stressful in the moment and cost me more money, the decision turned out to be a very good one in the end. It reminded me how sometimes acting quickly with a clear goal in mind can really pay off.

Do you think people make better decisions when they are calm or under pressure?

Generally, people tend to make better decisions when they are calm because they have more time to evaluate the pros and cons of each option. However, some individuals actually thrive under pressure, especially in fast-paced professions like emergency services or stock trading, where quick, instinctive decisions are necessary. But overall, a calm mind helps avoid emotional or impulsive choices.

Why do some people struggle to make decisions quickly?

Some people struggle with quick decision-making because they fear making the wrong choice. They may overthink potential outcomes or lack self-confidence. In other cases, it could be due to a lack of experience or information, which makes it harder to trust their instincts. Cultural upbringing also plays a role; in some cultures, people are encouraged to be cautious rather than decisive.

Are decision-making skills something people are born with or can they be learned?

While some people naturally possess strong decision-making instincts, I believe this is largely a skill that can be learned and improved. Through experience, critical thinking, and exposure to different situations, individuals can train themselves to make better and faster decisions. Even in schools and workplaces, decision-making is often taught through problem-solving exercises and leadership roles.

Is it better to make quick decisions in personal life or in professional life?

It depends on the situation. In professional life, especially in time-sensitive jobs, quick decisions are often necessary. However, in personal life, decisions can have long-term emotional consequences, so taking time to reflect is usually better. That said, some urgent personal situations, like health emergencies, require fast thinking. So both areas may demand quick decisions at times, but with different stakes.

What are the consequences of poor decision-making?

Poor decision-making can lead to a wide range of consequences, depending on the context. In a professional setting, it might result in financial loss, project failure, or loss of trust. In personal life, it could damage relationships, affect mental health, or create regret. Over time, a pattern of bad decisions can also affect one’s self-esteem and credibility.
