What was your dream job when you were at a young age?

Well, when I was younger, I dreamed of being a travel or food blogger, as I have always had a passion for cooking and travelling. I always desired a job that would not require me to work in a single location because I did not want a monotonous work life. Therefore, I desired to become an international travel or cuisine blogger.

Have you ever changed your mind about your dream job?

Yes, as I’ve grown, I’ve realised that I’m better suited for a career as an engineer in the computer industry than as a travel blogger, based on my talents and understanding of Computer Science courses. I changed my mind because my parents did not want me to enter that field.

What are your plans to do in the future?

As I have a significant interest in the technological field, I hope to continue working as an engineer in the future. I’ve been learning computer programmes and programming languages for more than four years, and I’m now fairly confident and at ease with it.

The field is so large that anyone can readily identify an area of interest and work in it. In any case, the occupation is popular in my nation. And for this, they would pay a content writer to create original and engaging content.

One group of people who raise awareness about the environment are environmental activists and educators. A well-known example is Greta Thunberg, a young climate activist from Sweden. She gained international attention by starting a school strike for climate, which eventually grew into a global movement known as “Fridays for Future.”

These individuals create awareness in various impactful ways. They organize peaceful protests, deliver powerful speeches, run campaigns on social media, and participate in global environmental events. For example, Greta often speaks at United Nations conferences and climate summits, urging world leaders to take stronger action against climate change.

Apart from activists, there are also local NGOs, educators, and influencers who play an important role. They conduct workshops, clean-up drives, tree-planting events, and educational programs in schools and communities to inform people about issues like pollution, deforestation, and plastic waste.

I strongly believe their efforts are quite effective, especially among younger generations. Social media has amplified their voices, and more people are now aware of environmental issues than ever before. However, while awareness is growing, it doesn’t always lead to immediate action from governments or corporations. Still, these efforts are an essential first step towards change.

In conclusion, people who raise environmental awareness are doing a commendable job, and their influence is steadily encouraging more individuals to adopt eco-friendly habits and demand policy changes.

Why do some people ignore environmental issues?

Many people ignore environmental problems because they feel disconnected from them. They might think these issues don’t affect their daily lives or are too complex to understand. Others believe it’s the government’s responsibility, not theirs. In some cases, people simply prioritize convenience or economic benefit over sustainability.

IELTS Speaking Test

Do you think school children should be taught about environmental protection?

Absolutely. Educating children about the environment from an early age helps them develop a sense of responsibility and respect for nature. Schools can introduce topics like recycling, climate change, and energy conservation through fun activities and projects, which can have a lasting impact.

What role do governments play in protecting the environment?

Governments play a crucial role. They can create and enforce laws to limit pollution, protect wildlife, and promote clean energy. They can also invest in green infrastructure and run public awareness campaigns. Without strong governmental action, individual efforts may not be enough to tackle large-scale problems.

IELTS Speaking Test

How can ordinary people contribute to environmental conservation?

Ordinary people can make a big difference through small changes in daily life. For example, they can use reusable bags, reduce water and electricity usage, recycle properly, and avoid single-use plastics. Supporting eco-friendly products and spreading awareness within their communities also helps.
