IELTS Speaking Test
Do you like art?
Yeah, I’m really into art coz it helps to release my stress. It’s a good way to get it out of my system from singing or painting. And art makes me be able to perceive the world better, like to discover beauty in life, and to improve my aesthetic level.
Do you like visiting art galleries?
Yeah, love to go to art galleries on my days off coz it’s cool to take snapshots there and put them on my moments. More importantly, I have the chance to know different genres, and listen to the stories told by the guides.
Do you want to be an artist?
Well my answer is no because most of the artists are in limbo. I mean, it’s very hard for a person to make a name for him or herself in the industry. I know it sounds utilitarian, but that’s the truth. And if that’s the case, it’s impossible for an artist to support him or herself.
IELTS Speaking Test
Do you like modern art or traditional art?
Honestly, I’m an outsider to art, but I should say, I just love both because each has its strong points. To my understanding, traditional art provides a basis for aesthetic level, showing people the details of the artwork. And modern art is sort of like, breaking the mould and reflecting the artists’ thoughts.
Do you like painting/ drawing? Why?
Yes, I do. I used to be fancy of drawing when I was in primary school. I just enjoyed copying the figure in my drawing book and making use of any colour as I like. I felt proud of being praised by my relatives when they saw my drawing posted on the wall of my house.

Do you want to learn more about art?
No. I simply take it as some entertainment activities to kill time like sculpturing or paper cutting, not something that I would like to pay special attention or invest, or put alot of efforts. As I mentioned, handicrafts making is too time consuming and challenging to be adept. So, as opposed to making such stuff, I would rather spend some time listening to music and learn how to sing.
Do you think children should learn drawing?
It depends. If a child has an interest in drawing, it’s good for them to do. Parents should encourage their children to do what they like. However, it’s useless to push every child to learn drawing.

IELTS Speaking Test
I am not really too particular about my dress up or the clothing item I choose to wear. So, I try to buy any kind of clothing items as long as they look good. But unfortunately, this “look good” thing didn’t exactly work for me when I bought a full sleeve shirt.
Yes, as you may have rightly guessed that I didn’t like that full sleeve shirt which I bought about a year ago from a local market. The shirt seemingly looked nice with its light grey colour, matching buttons and a couple of nicely designed chest pockets. It also fit me real nicely with its perfect waist length. Made with linen-cotton fabrics, I thought that the shirt was a perfect bargain for me since it was sold to me at a much lower price.

By the way, I purchased that shirt from a local market, mainly because I wanted to help out a relative of one of my friends who had opened a new clothing store there. But, up and until that point, I have never really bought anything from that market because, to tell the truth, I thought that most of the clothing items there were of poor quality.
I should also mention here that the shirt wasn’t made by any of the famous clothing brands of my country, but I still bought it because I thought that every clothing company, famous or not, should be a fair chance to prove their worth to their customers. After buying that shirt, I even used it for a couple of weeks randomly without any trouble. But after that, I stopped wearing that shirt, apparently because I didn’t like it anymore.
Anyway, I didn’t like the shirt anymore, mainly because its colour seemed to have faded away a bit too soon for my liking, and that too only after a couple of regular detergent wash. I didn’t like it also because it wouldn’t remain polished and smooth even after ironing it for a long time.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS
What kind of clothes do people in your country usually wear?
Fashion primarily depends on dresses and attire in Australia and there is no national costume for the country. But the fashion style is quite different from the other nations like Europeans or Western. Australian dresses are mostly casual. People usually prefer clothes based on their climatic conditions, identity and lifestyle and the dresses are designed so. Women prefer short sleeve dresses, jumpers, maxis, wrap dresses, collarless shirts, tops, skirts etc. with different styles and they vary on occasions while the males put on polo shirts, jeans, formal shirts and pants, suits, tie, jackets, trousers etc.
How important is it to wear fashionable clothes in your country?
People here prefer comfort than fashion. The climatic conditions are one the best determiner for your dress. For instance, if you are in winter, you cannot wear a half sleeve dress and get out for any event, rather you are to take full sleeve dresses with proper cold preventing attire. When it is hot in the summer, you are to wear light coloured dresses for your comfort. But the dresses are fashionable and let you express yourself amid others.

Do older people and younger people wear different coloured clothes?
Commonly the older people start preferring the light coloured dresses while the younger people prefer the dark. It is a popular culture when people turn older, they start using light coloured dresses to mark their superiority, and like the other youths of the world, and they use dark and deep coloured attire.
