SAMPLE ANSWER
Vacations bring a relief from the hectic day-to-day life. Here I would like to talk about a short vacation, which really impressed me. After my senior secondary exam, I spent a few days with my cousin at Chandigarh. My cousin is of my age and we are good friends. We enjoyed a lot. We visited many places in Chandigarh such as Rose Garden, Rock garden, Sukhna Lake, Mini zoo and so on.
I was really impressed by the Rock Garden. It was made by Nek Chand, who unfortunately is no more. Rock Garden is made of trash. It is a very big tourist attraction now in Chandigarh. 17 Sector is a shopper’s paradise. We did a lot of shopping from there. I was really awed by the city. No wonder, it is called ‘the city beautiful.” Chandigarh is a union territory and also the capital of two states – Haryana and Punjab. It has been named after an ancient temple – ChandiMandir.
It was designed by a French architect, Le Corbusier. The residential areas are away from the commercial hubs. This city is active culturally, academically and commercially. The traffic moves very smoothly. The roads and public places are well maintained. Local bus service is also very good. It is a city full of life at all hours of the day and night. My cousin took me to many eat-out places, such as Sam’s Café and many more. I stayed there for four days. It was a very memorable experience for me. I would like to settle in a city like Chandigarh one day.
