IELTS GENERAL WRITING TASK 1

You have visited another city in your country. Prior to the visit you requested some information from a tourist centre, but the information was incorrect. Write a letter to the manager of the centre and say

– What information were you looking for?

– What was incorrect in it?

– What happened to you because of it.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Sir,

I am Prabhjot Kaur, a resident of House no. 21, Kamal Park, Aman Nagar, Jalandhar. I am writing this letter to complain about the problems that I faced because of the wrong information given by your company’s tour guide. I was on a seven-day trip to Assam from 10th to 17th November 2021.

Firstly, I was over the moon when I reached Assam with my family and we all wanted to know all the sightseeing available there. You people told me about multifarious places such as Jagmohan Museum which is selling like a hot cake, Monuments, Skyscrapers and so on. I asked them especially if there are special days or times for visiting but your person said that it is open every day. I also asked them some economical places to stay and they suggested to me about SR Hotel was the cheapest and best.

I stayed in the SR Hotel . When we went to see the Jagmohgan historical place on Saturday, the 16th of November, we were told that museum is closed on Saturday. The next day was our return. At that time, I felt so awful. We also came to know that there are a plethora of other resorts whose rate is half as compared to the SR guest house where we stayed.

I was very disappointed with your staff who misguided the tourists for little commission. I would appreciate it, you could look into this matter and give training to your works so that no one in future would face nat obstacles.
