IELTS GENERAL WRITING TASK 1

An old car was left on the street near your street several weeks ago. The car is now causing a problem for residents. Write a letter to the Council. In your letter:

-Describe the car

-Outline the problems it is causing

-Tell the Council what you want them to do about it

You do NOT need to write any addresses. Begin your letter as follows:

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Councillor,

I am writing this letter to inform you about the old car in front of my street. It is currently causing an obstruction to me and my neighbours, and I would like it if you could find a solution to this problem.

The automobile is currently located in front of my street. The automobile is a black Corolla with a yellow patch on the side mirror.

The car is currently obstructing the road and making it hard for people to come in and out of my street. A typical example was when my friend was not able to drive into my neighbourhood because of the traffic and obstruction there.

Also, I would like it if the council could contact the owner in order to remove the car from there or hire a car removal company to remove the car from the front of my street.

I really hope you can take care of this problem. Thank you for your time and consideration.
