SAMPLE ANSWER
The bar chart gives information about how much money was spent on toys in the years 2012 and 2016 in several different countries. Overall, it can be seen that in general more money was spent on toys in 2016 than in 2012 in most countries.
The countries that spent the most money on toys by far in 2012 were the USA and the UK. Consumers in the USA spent $3billion in 2012, whilst people in the UK spent $6billion in the same year. In contrast, Japanese and Chinese people spent just $1billion on toys in 2012, while Brazil and India spent even less than this at $0.5billion and $0.1billion respectively.
By 2016, spending on toys had increased in almost all of the countries. The UK was still the highest spender at $8billion dollars, while the USA climbed slightly to $3.5billion. Japan saw no rise and Brazil climbed by only $0.5billion. On the other hand, China doubled its spend to $2billion and India’s expenditure rose to the same figure.
