Designer – a person who imagines how something could be made and draws plans for it.
Sentence – Fake designer watches are sold at a fraction of the price of the genuine article.

Occupation – a person’s job.
Sentence – I suppose I was looking for an occupation which was going to be an adventure.

Profession – any type of work that needs special training or a particular skill, often one that is respected because it involves a high level of education.
Sentence – She followed her mother into the medical profession.

Decorator – a person whose job is to paint the inside or outside of buildings and to do other related work.
Sentence – I think I’m going to hire an interior decorator to look the place over.

Architect – a person whose job is to design new buildings and make certain that they are built correctly.
Sentence – The architect drew the house in section.

Engineer – a person whose job is to design or build machines, engines, or electrical equipment, or things such as roads, railways, or bridges, using scientific principles.
Sentence – The engineer has many technical innovations to his credit.

Waiter – a man whose job is to bring the food to customers at their tables in a restaurant.
Sentence – The waiter collected the dishes from the kitchen and carried them through into the restaurant.

Teacher – someone whose job is to teach in a school or college.
Sentence – The teacher praised him for his anxiety for knowledge.

Vacancy – a space or place that is available to be used.
Sentence – The company uses the agency when a vacancy needs to be filled on an interim basis.

Professor – a teacher of the highest rank in a department of a British university, or a teacher of high rank in an American university or college.
Sentence – The professor theorized about the age of the earth.

Specialist – someone who has a lot of experience, knowledge, or skill in a particular subject.
Sentence – The specialist suggested that children should not eat too much sugar.

Manager – the person who is responsible for managing an organization.
Sentence – He is the vice general manager of this company.

Waitress – a woman whose job is to bring the food to customers at their tables in a restaurant.
Sentence – The waitress beamed a cheerful welcome to the guests.

Psychologist – someone who studies the human mind and human emotions and behaviour, and how different situations have an effect on people.
Sentence – An assessment by an independent educational psychologist was essential.

Volunteer – a person who does something, especially helping other people, willingly and without being forced or paid to do it.
Sentence – Finding a volunteer to write the computer program isn’t a problem.

Craftsman – a person who is skilled in a particular craft.
Sentence – Each brew master was a craftsman with a personalized understanding of how beer should taste.

Work Experience – the experience that a person already has of working.
Sentence – Work experience is integrated into the teaching programme.

Curriculum Vitae – a short written description of your education, qualifications, previous jobs, and sometimes also your personal interests, which you send to an employer when you are trying to get a job.
Sentence – Please bring in a duplicate of your curriculum vitae.

Freelance – doing particular pieces of work for different organizations, rather than working all the time for a single organization.
Sentence – He gave up a permanent job in order to freelance.

Secretary – someone who works in an office, writing letters, making phone calls, and arranging meetings for a person or for an organization.
Sentence – His secretary was instructed to cancel all his engagements.
