Animus: a feeling of hate or anger towards someone or something:
Sentence: Your animus towards him suggests that you are the wrong man for the job.

Antagonism: hate, extreme unfriendliness, or active opposition to someone:
Sentence: She felt nothing but antagonism towards her boss.

Atrocities: an extremely wicked or cruel act, typically one involving physical violence or injury.
Sentence: Atrocities were committed by forces on both sides of the conflict.

Bloodshed: the killing or wounding of people, typically on a large scale during a conflict.
Sentence: There was a lot of bloodshed during the war

Brutality: behaviour that is very cruel or violent and showing no feelings for others
Sentence: There is no doubt that a culture of police brutality contributes to the atmosphere of violence.

Bombed out: to completely destroy a place by dropping bombs on it
Sentence: The building was completely bombed out.

Casualties: a person killed or injured in a war or accident.
Sentence: there were many civilian casualties when the town was bombed

Catastrophe: a sudden event that causes great suffering or destruction
Sentence: Experts fear a humanitarian catastrophe if food isn’t delivered

Warlords: a military leader who controls a country or, more often, an area within a country
Sentence: He is one of the most notorious warlords in the country.

Exodus: the fact of a large number of people leaving a place or situation:
Sentence: A massive exodus of doctors is forcing the government to recruit from abroad.

Plunder: to steal or remove something precious from something,
Sentence: The village was plundered by the invading army.

Holocaust: a very large amount of destruction, especially by fire or heat, or the killing of very large numbers of people
Sentence: I felt like one of the survivors after a nuclear holocaust.

Strife: violent or angry disagreement:
Sentence: The country has been torn apart by years of civil strife.

Vendetta: a strong desire to harm a person or group, often because of political reasons or feelings of hate
Sentence: She claims that the police have a vendetta against her
