Be ensure about these controlling words like all, mainly, almost, occassionally. These words can vary the meaning of the sentence. The sentence, in the morning, she can mostly be seen in school’ and ‘Everyday in the morning, she can be seen in school’ both carry distinct meaning .

For instance, if in the passage it is mentioned, ‘There were few teachers in the seminar’ and the statement of the question is, There were a few teachers in the seminar. The answer will be false as ‘few ‘put negative connotation while ‘a few’ has a positive insinuation.

Don’t make any assumptions.

Concentrate on what is given in the text. Supposing the information in the text is ‘Mr. Sharma did not go to the office as he was suffering from terrible headache, the question says, ‘Mr. Sharma did not go the office as he was not well. The answer will not be ‘True’ as ‘unwell’ cannot be assumed as headache .

Worthwhile tips for Yes/No / Not Given

Read all the questions thoroughly so that you become aware about the exact information you need to focus in reading passage.

Skim and scam the reading passages to find the words that are relevant as proper nouns, or adjectives in the question statements. Tackle those questions that have proper nouns in the statements first, as this information is easier to find through scanning. After that move on to the next questions.

Never look for the exact words but for the synonyms. The statement of the question and those in the passage will have the same meaning but the words used will be different.

Let’s take an example:-

‘Many individuals have moved away from Ford town. The passage reads ‘Ford-town has suffered enormous population loss.’ Both the statements express the same view although the words used are different. Hence the answer is ‘Yes’.

Read the question attentively and related part of the question. Even if the meaning looks the same but the controlling words will entirely change the meaning and thus the answer. For instance,’Some travellers find the museum very knowledgeable.’ In the passage it is written ‘All visitors find the museum very knowledgeable.
