TIPS TO GET HIGH BAND SCORE IN IELTS
IELTS exam is given by the students who want to go abroad as this is one of the conditions applied by colleges and universities. Every organization has their specific band requirements that admission seekers should meet requirement. Candidates work hard to meet the IELTS Band requirements not only this sometimes they want to get more than the requirement to prove their Language abilities. So today we are here with some special tips to get high band score in IELTS which will help the above said both categories of the students.
Know the test format: – First and foremost, make yourself familiar with the test format. You should have the depth knowledge of every module and know different question types and how to solve them. This will help you to finish your exam in time without any surprises.
Skim and Scan: – Skimming and scanning are the essential tools for getting high scores in IELTS reading and listening learn these skills and be the master of them. These techniques help to find the accurate answers without reading the whole passage by getting an overview of the text.
Time management: – Another crucial factor that can enhance or decrease your score. In IELTS every test has strict time limits and not even a single second is given after the time. So you have to manage the time in a proper way so that no question remains unattended. For time management you should perform time bond practice sessions as by doing this you can easily understand that in which part of the test is the most time consuming for you and you can work on it accordingly or you can also adopt other time management techniques.
Don’t stick just Move on:- In spite of lots of practice you may come across a question whose answer may not be known to you. If this situation arises than you should not stick to it and should move on ignoring it. If you give much time to a single question than most probably you will not have much time to answer many other questions. So, it’s better to leave one question instead of several. Leave the question you don’t understand or not getting its answer. Mark the question and try to attempt at the end if some time is left.
Proofreading:- The process of rechecking your content in order to find any spelling or grammatical errors is called proofreading. Spare some time at the end of the exam to re read your writing as this can help to enhance your scores.
Plan and Organize:- Planning is essential tool for IELTS writing part. Without planning your essay can get stranded as result it will not be well organized and even you will have to devote more time to write the essay. So, it’s better to plan things before you start writing. Take some time to think on the given topic write your views and plan the order to write an impressive essay.
Speak clearly: – In IELTS speaking section, you should speak clearly so that the examiner can get you easily. Your pitch should neither be too loud nor too slow it should be natural and you should sound confident.
Word limit: – In IELTS writing test there is a minimum word limit in both the tasks. For Task 1 the word limit is 150 words and 250 words for task 2 if you write less than this limit than your scores will be deducted. To make sure that you met the word limit you should know the criteria of how the examiner counts words.
Practice: – As I always say practice, practice and practice as it is the key to crack IELTS exam. You cannot master tips and tricks in a single day so you should practice for a long time to get your desired scores in IELTS. So, keep practicing.
