IELTS is English proficiency test for assessing your command over English language. Usually students who want to go abroad attempt this exam. Today, we will be discussing some tips and tricks to crack IELTS exam. Below are some points:

Understand the format of the Test – It is very important to have a complete understanding of the exam, which will lead you to crack the IELTS examination. The IELTS exam assesses the candidates on four different parameters that are Reading, writing, listening and speaking. Thus, the candidates should have a detailed idea of the format of the test so that it becomes easier to crack the same. Any of the candidates planning to crack IELTS needs to prove their proficiency in all the four sections in a time period of 2 hours and 45 minutes. The time allotted for the sections for listening, reading, writing and speaking is 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 60 minutes and 12 to 14 minutes respectively. The listening, reading and writing sections are completed on the same day but the speaking sections will be conducted a week after or before after the tests of three other sections.

Practice More – It’s a known saying that practice makes a man perfect. Practice is certainly the key to success in any of the examinations. If you want to crack the IELTS exam in first attempt make sure you are practicing every day. At least 2 hours per day practice is recommended ideally. For instancewriting an essay of 300 words is better that a 400 words’ essay with similar lines, repetitive ideas and mis constructed sentences.

Proper Guidance – Guidance plays an important role in your preparation of IELTS exam. It’s going to be very difficult cracking IELTS exam without proper guidance and material. Therefore, guidance from proper tutors and academy is very important as they will not only help you overcome your weakness but also motivate you to work hard.

Don’t leave any question – Your language skills are assessed in IELTS test. In all the modules different skills related to the language will be tested. In speaking the examiner will check your speaking skills that is the way you speak, your grammatical mistakes, your hold on tenses and how smoothly you speak without hesitation. Similarly, in other modules like writing , reading and listening your other skills will be judged. Another tip that can help you in your exam leaving/ skipping any question is not helpful for the examiner or you as there is no negative marking in the exam. The same rule applies to the listening and reading testsdon’t leave any questions, as they will be marked as incorrect. So, make a good guess your answer might get correct.

Don’t stress yourself – It’s a bit natural to feel under pressure when taking the IELTS test but than we all know that no one performs well under too much pressure. To help you feel more relax and comfortable you can perform some breathing exercises before the test starts. Also, sleep well a night before the test and eat healthy before the exam proves helpful. However, the key to a stress-free exam lies with the right planning and more practice for the test ahead of time.
