Many aspirants start shivering when it comes to Writing module in IELTS, even the sharp students are afraid of this module. This module makes you apply the language skills you’ve learned in your whole life. It’s scoring is based on how sensibly you can express your ideas and feelings and how much of it the examiner can understand.

This is the reason why most of the candidates find this part of the test very stressful and this module can make or break test-takers as if you score less in this section you overall score will get affected. Know Writing Task

As you must be aware that in IELTS there are two types of exam:  Academic and General IELTS tests and tasks in both are different but the common thing is that they both have two tasks. Task 1 and Task 2 in first one you must write a minimum of 150 words and 250 words for the second Task.

Time Restrictions

This part of the test is also time bond as you will get 60 minutes to write and to check both the tasks. You should also understand the statement so that you can write in a proper way and you get good score for task response you should perform all these exercises in the given time. Task 2 carries more scores so you should focus more on it and should spend 40 minutes on it and the remaining 20 minutes should be utilized on Task 1. The golden rule for writing tasks is that you should make a plan before you start writing and in the end you should recheck your content.

Know the task type

Well the structure of the writing part of both the Academic and General IELTS writing test are the same, their tasks are completely different. In Academic, the Task 1 you can encounter a graph, a table, chart or a pie chart followed by an essay question. While in General, the task 1 is always a letter which can be Formal, Semi Formal or Informal and the task 2 is an essay.

Plan it all out

In IELTS writing Tasks planning is the key to success so you must plan your writing before you start. Note your views that you have decided to write on the piece of a paper. After preparing it you can note these points on your answer sheet with supporting points and examples. The thing that you should keep in mind is that you should only note the keywords and not the whole sentences.

This exercise will make you write in a flow as you will not have to stop to think on what to write next.  Moreover, it also helps you to organize your task properly as you will not feel stranded in between the task.

Do not panic!

Stress and panic is the biggest enemy of the test takers and it is often seen that aspirants get nervous on the test day. In this stress they forget what they have been taught, they even forget to have a look on the word count, to plan as a result they go off the topic and commit grammatical errors.   

You can avoid all these mistakes if you can control yourself and learn some techniques to tackle the nervousness. Practice can also help you out as more you practice more you learn.
