Places Vocabulary

Parliament – in some countries, the group of (usually) elected politicians or other people who make the laws for their country.

Sentence – The Moldavian parliament has declared the elections unconstitutional.

Accommodation – a place to live, work, stay, etc. in.

Sentence – The government will provide temporary accommodation for up to three thousand people.

Local Library – a building, room, or organization that has a collection of books, documents, music, and sometimes things such as tools or artwork, for people to borrow, usually without payment.

Sentence – Our local library, Macdonald Road, Edinburgh, produced a book on fishing that became my firm favourite.

Sentence – They allowed the children to go to the park.

Sentence – Some teachers expect incoming kindergarten children to be able to sit for long periods of time concentrating on workbooks or worksheets.
