Different Accents Types

As discussed earlier different accents are used in the exam and you cannot master each of them. It’s better to choose one and stick to it either British, American, North American, or British. Here I will like to mention that different speakers have different styles of communication and it can be confusing if you are not familiar with a particular accent. According to me you should grasp a good knowledge about British accent as it is accepted globally.

Start preparation for different accents

Prepare yourself for every situation and be ready to handle any accent in the exam. For improving your listening skills you should watch TV programs or watch documentaries. Beside, you can also go for online videos, listening songs and radio chit chat all these programs will help you to become familiar with different styles of speaking as these platforms have variety of speakers with different accents. So, you can adapt yourself to different situations and the more you try different accents, the better they help you understand them.

While watching a movie, you should pause it and note down the important words and look for its meaning. You should the difficult words so as to catch its accent this will not only help you in listening but also in speaking as your accent will improve.

Stick to a particular accent helps in speaking test

As I have already said that you cannot master all the accents so stick to one and learn it, but keep in mind that you should be familiar with all the accents so that you get prepared for every situation in the exam. If you will stick to a single accent it will be beneficial for you in your speaking exam as with continuous practice you will be able to remember word stress, intonation, and pronunciation by this you will sound natural. For getting good score in speaking it is very important to be in natural tone. Moreover, your vocabulary and ideas will also increase.
