Applicant. Someone who applies for a job.

Sentence: The successful applicant will be notified by letter

Resume. A document listing your education, work history, and skills.

Sentence: Please send your resume to the personnel department.

Cover Letter. A letter explaining why you’re suitable for the job.

Sentence: In today’s job market it is very important for you to write a great cover letter

Competence. The ability to do something successfully or efficiently

Sentence: Her competence as a teacher is unquestionable

Qualifications. Skills or experiences required for a job.

Sentence: I have done a lot of courses and gained qualifications at the centre.

Scenario. A hypothetical situation described during an interview

Sentence: A possible scenario would be that we move to the city.

Enthusiasm. The display of keen interest or excitement towards a task, role, or subject

Sentence: Their skill, enthusiasm and running has got them in the team.

Proactiveness. The attitude of taking initiative and anticipating future needs or changes

Sentence: The salesperson demonstrated great proactiveness by researching prospective clients before the meeting

Achievement. A significant success or accomplishment.

Sentence: getting my degree was a great achievement

Skillset. The range of your abilities and expertise.

Sentence: He developed a skill set that included dancing, singing, and playing the piano and guitar.

Adaptability. Being able to adjust to new conditions or changes.

Sentence: Adaptability is essential to survival in a changing environment.
