
Important tips to crack IELTS
IELTS is the very essential for those who wants to go abroad for the further studies. It is bit challenging for students so the students are advised to start preparation at least three months before appearing in the exam. It is approximately three hour’s test which is divided into four sections reading, listening, writing, and speaking. To make it easy to solve and to get good scores here are some important tips to crack IELTS.
1. To understand the English language you should use it in daily life. Try to do conversation with your friends and family. It helps to boost your English level and also you will get addicted to use it and become Excellent in speaking.
2. Try to focus on vocabulary, grammar and tenses. Most of the student doesn’t use the sentences accurately as their sentence formation is incorrect. If you start focusing on grammar and sentence structure it will definitely improve your overall score.
3. Don’t mention any irrelevant answer. Also avoid writing long passages and sentences. It will affect your writing structure. So describe those things which are suitable according to the question.
4. Try to manage your time wisely. Don’t spend much time on each question especially in reading because in reading you have three long passages which you need to complete in 1 hour. If you spend lot of time to find the answers you will not manage the time and you will have to leave few questions. So, to complete the full test just spend 1 minute on each question.
5. In listening try to understand the accents of speaker. For this, practice on both accents American and British. Watch lot of movies and TV shows in different accents.
6. Pronunciation is also important for speaking. Try to pronounce word correctly and try to use the wide range of vocabulary in your writing and speaking. Find out some vocabulary words when you do practice and try to eliminate them on your daily routine.
How the IELTS score calculated
Your overall band score is calculated by taking the mean score of the four test components (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking). The score for each component is equally weighted. Your overall band score is rounded to the nearest whole or half band.
