Sample Answer:-
Dear Manager,
I have just returned from a holiday at Hotel Perico Azul in Jaco, with my wife and children, which was most annoying. The trip to Costa Rica was a nightmare owing to bad choices made by you while organizing our trip. Our tour package reference is 4567474.
Astonishing, there was no shower in the hotel room as specified in your brochure. Furthermore, the hotel was 10 miles away from the beach whereas the brochure described it to be only 5 miles away. We reported this issue to your representative on 5 September 2015, but they unable to resolve the matter. They advised us to report this matter once we return home.
Under The Package Travel, Package Holiday and Package Tours Regulations 1992, there must not be any compromise over the contracted facilities and services offered. Because we were not provided with all the described elements, we are entitled to receive a refund. We suffered from loss of enjoyment, consequential losses and disappointment. Therefore, we are seeking $500 compensation from you.
I look forward to receiving a response from you within 14 days to this letter.
Yours sincerely,
Amitabh Bachchan
Glossary:-
Astonishing (adverb): in a way that is surprising, to entitle somebody to something (verb): to give somebody the right to have or to do something, consequential losses (noun): the amount of loss incurred as a result of being unable to use business property or equipment. Writing Task 2 (AC+GT):-
Nowadays doctors earn well. Maybe they should not focus on profitable activities such as plastic surgery or looking rich patients. They should concentrate more on patient’s health, no matter how rich they are. To what extent do you agree?
Sample Answer:-
Every human being has the right to choose a profession and to excel in it and, as such, doctors have the freedom to practise a speciality of their choice. The freedom from illness people experience today is the result of relentless (=continuous) efforts of diligent (=industrious) and dedicated doctors who serve humanity. The statement that doctors must refrain from treating rich people or from profitable practices such as plastic surgery is, to my mind, not acceptable.
First of all, our experience is indicative of the fact that sincere and committed doctors have been doing a ceaseless campaign to conquer dreaded (=feared) diseases. Any form of treatment, at the stage of its origin, is far from being inexpensive. However, as time passes, it becomes available to the masses, although in the beginning only the rich can afford it. For example, laparoscopic surgery had been available only to the upper strata of society till recently, but now it is at the doorstep of ordinary people.
Secondly, to say that doctors must abstain from some forms of treatments simply because they benefit only the rich is an infringement (=restriction) on the rights of doctors and patients. It must be understood that the human nature of aspiring for more is inherent in everybody. Besides, many rich people serve society as entrepreneurs or inspirers. Doctors providing them with specialized service is justifiable.
In the final analysis, all human beings have equal rights and everybody is equal before law. Common people deserve the best available health care, but the rich also have the right to get what they prefer. In addition, not every doctor specializes in treatments that are very expensive.
