To function – to operate.

Imperfect – damaged, containing problems, or not having something.
Sentence – Assets are imperfect substitutes because they possess different characteristics with respect to liquidity, marketability and profitability.
Obsolete – not in use any more, having been replaced by something newer and better or more fashionable.

Above – in or to a higher position than something else.

Total – the amount you get when several smaller amounts are added together.

Monotonous – not changing and therefore boring.

To hurry – to move or do things more quickly than normal or to make someone do this.
Sentence – I did not feel the slightest inclination to hurry.
Ardor – great enthusiasm or love.
Sentence – The key element, however, is not the ardor of the reformers.
Gut – the long tube in the body of a person or animal, through which food moves during the process of digesting food.
Sentence – The excessive secretion of gastric juices in the gut causes ulcers.
Identical – exactly the same, or very similar.
Sentence – The documents were identical in almost every particular.
Immodest – having too high an opinion of yourself.
Sentence – Webb was an immodest publicist of his achievements, and amassed wealth but also large debts.
Untrue – not true; false.
Sentence – It appears that what I said was untrue, but I did not knowingly lie to you.
Achieve – to succeed in finishing something or reaching an aim, especially after a lot of work or effort.
Sentence – With a burning desire to achieve the dream as a backing, so that the desire to become enthusiastic, let it become your brain in one of the most important things.
