IELTS Registration 2021 – How to Register for IELTS Examination in India?
International English Language Testing System known as IELTS is the most popular English language proficiency test. This test evaluates the language skills of the aspirants who want to study or work in a English speaking country. The students who want to study in college or university overseas require to take this test. IELTS is recognized by many universities in Canada, Australia, USA and many others. Without the IELTS certificate the student cannot seek admission in any educational institute. So like any exam IELTS also have some eligibility and registration criteria and today we will talk about it.
Age Limit
Candidates who wish to attempt the IELTS examination must be 16 years or above. Any how if the age of student is less than 16 he can appear in the exam with his parent’s consent i.e. he have to give a declaration duly signed by his parents.
Types of IELTS exams
There are two types of exam and one can book according to the need and requirement. The details are as follows:
– IELTS Academic Test: Academic test are for those who want to pursue higher education or professional registration abroad.
– IELTS General Training Test: It is for the people who want to migrate in English country or want to work there. It is also taken by the people who want secondary education, training programs.
Based on Mode of Writing the Exam
Further it is has two modes of writing the exam Paper based and Computer based.
Paper-Based Test: In this the candidate have to write the Listening, Reading and Writing sections on the answer sheet in his own hand writing and the speaking will be conducted face-to-face with the IELTS examiner.
Computer Based Test: In this the candidate have to write the Listening, Reading and Writing sections on the computer i.e. he have to type his answers and the speaking will be conducted face-to-face with the IELTS examiner.
Educational Eligibility
There is no minimum education eligibility to appear in the exam anyone can appear in the exam. There are certain terms and conditions that should be kept in mind before booking the exam.
Exam Cancellation Fees in IELTS
– If the candidate cancels his exam application more than 5 weeks before the test date he will receive 75% of his total fees paid and 25% will be deducted.
– If the candidate cancels his exam application 5 weeks before the test date he will not receive any refund.
– If the candidate don’t appears in the exam his amount will not be refunded but if the candidate produce a medical certificate within 5 days of the test he will get refund after deducting some administrative fees.
IELTS Exam Dates (India)
The IELTS exam is conducted 4 times in a month and the candidate can choose any date according to his convenience. For registration you can opt the following methods:
– Online Method: In this you can directly go to the site of the test authority (BC or IDP) and can register yourself and you can pay fees through digital modes. This is the easiest way for registration.
– Offline Method: In offline method you have to download the application fill it and submit to IDP or BC India office. You have to make payment through debit or credit card, demand draft or ICICI deposit slip.
IELTS Results
For paper based exam you will get the result within 13 calendar days from the date of exam. The result for computer based exam the result is declared within 5-7 days. The result can be checked by online.
