Result of IELTS is declared after 13 days after the completion of main exam (Writing, Reading and Listening exam). What is a Test Report Form (TRF)?
As already told that the result of IELTS exam is declared 13 days after the main exam and you get the result as a text message on your registered mobile number or you can get it online but you don’t get anything in hardcopy that can indicate your scores. So, you get Test Report Form or TRF through courier some days after the declaration of result. Basically the TRF is a physical paper-based copy of the results of the IELTS exam. What is a Personal Test Report Form?
This Test Report Form indicates that the candidate will collect the IELTS scorecard in person from the test centre.
What is an Institutional Test Report Form?
In this Test Report Form the scorecard is sent directly to the Universities directly from the Council on demand of the student.
Additional Score Report
British Council provides maximum 5 copies of the IELTS Scorecard. If the candidate wants some more copies that he wants to be delivered to various Universities, then he has to fill the Additional Score Report TRF. Student can choose between two modes of delivery either by courier or by post and have to pay accordingly some extra charges per address to avail this facility.
There is another option of sharing scorecard and that is electronically by the Council to the University, for this also he has to pay some fees per university.
How to Check IELTS Results?
There are different platforms from where you can check your IELTS scores. One can opt for any of the platform via email, SMS, online, or from the test centers.
The results are visible online for 90 days. You will also receive a TRF by mail. The physical copies are dispatched after the announcement of the results and it is delivered within 10 days after dispatch. This means that the result is declared on the 13th day and the TRF will be in your hand in the next 10 days.

You can check your IELTS result online by following these steps:
– Visit the British Council’s official website.
– Click on the link of the Results.
– Select your test date.
– Fill in all the details required like candidate number, DOB, ID number etc.
– Proceed.
How to Check IELTS Results From the Test Centre?
The candidates can also check the results from the test centre.
– You are required to show your ID number/passport and candidate number.
– Those who registered for the IELTS exam from the test centre will not receive the results by email, phone or fax.
How to Check IELTS Results from SMS, email, etc.?
You cannot receive your IELTS results via email, but you can check them via SMS. In order to check your IELTS results via SMS, you can send a message in the following format:
– RESULT “Candidate number” “Passport Number”
– You must send the SMS to 92898 92898, on the day of the announcement of the results, in the afternoon.
