What is IELTS remark?

If you think your test performance was good but your result is not according to that you can apply for rechecking of your exam, this process is known as IELTS remark or IELTS Enquiry on result. In this you can review one or all modules from a senior IELTS examiner the fees remain the same for all or one module’s rechecking. In this process your answers are given to an expert to check and your previous bands are not disclosed to him and if he gives you more bands than the older one you get a new TRF and even your revaluation fees is refunded.

There is time limit of 6 weeks from the test date mentioned on your TRF only in this time limit you can apply. Your reviewed result is available within 2 to 21 days of applying.

Points to remember:

– If your centre is not listed on the form, contact your test centre directly to apply for an Enquiry on Results application

– The revaluation application can be applied only once and the result provided is final and you cannot repeat the process second time.

– You are not allowed to use your IELTS scores for any university or immigration application during the remarking process.

IELTS Enquiry on Results Procedure:

IELTS calls the re-mark process an “Enquiry on Results” (EOR).

1) If your scores hiked by 2 or more points then it will be reviewed by 2 examiners.

2) The remarking is done in UK or Australia and not by local centre.

 3) Your revaluation money does get reimbursed if score increases.

4) The score dose not decrease in the process either it increase or remain the same.

5) The EOR process is done by the experts and genuinely.

 6) Fees for revaluation of one or all modules are the same. But revaluation for reading and listening is just the wastage of time and resources as in these modules answers are either right or wrong. In writing and speaking it can be beneficial as the score can increase in it.

So, if you get less sore as per your expectation you should go for remarking as there is a chance to get half or one score increase in it. So it’s not at all a bad idea to grab this chance provided by IELTS.
