TASK 1 : In the Writing Task 1 of the IELTS Academic test you have to write a summary of minimum 150 words about a particular graph shi h can include a bar, line or pie graph , a table chart, or process which be a manufacturing process, life process of it can be a flow chart about any procedure related to educational institutions or official organizations. This task would analyze your ability to select and report the main features, to describe and compare data, identify significance and trends in factual information, or describe a process.

TASK 2: IELTS Writing Task 2 requires you to jot down an essay of about 250 words at least. It will be presented with a topic and will judge your ability of responding through your capacity of giving and justifying a perspective, discussing a topic, summarizing details, outlining issues, figuring out possible solutions and supporting your writing with logics and reasons, arguments and relative sensible examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Out of these two tasks, most of the times candidates face challenges in the former one. The task 2 being an essay can be improved with detailing ideas, giving strong opinions and adding vocabulary. However, the writing task 1 is a bit tricky as you have a limited amount of time and you don’t even have a lot to change and edit. PARAMETERS:
Now before writing your task 1 you need to know in what way and according to which criterion would your be writing be assessed. These criterion are known as PARAMETERS in IELTS language. Let’s have a look on what these parameters are :

1) TASK ACHIEVEMENT: This part scrutinizes that whether you have satisfied and fulfilled whatever was demanded from you in the question of the task and if you present a complete task with a fully developed response.
2) COHERENCE AND COHESION: This is a measurement of your ability to present ideas in a logical way and in a clarified manner . To say it in other words, the examiner would see that if your ideas make sense in the order you present them and if they work together in a logical way.

3) LEXICAL RESOURCE : This parameter demands a variety of vocabulary with a natural but impressive and advanced language. There should be only minor errors and your choice of words should be very calculative and accurate.
4) GRAMMATICAL RANGE AND ACCURACY: This part is a calculator of your your hold on grammar. Your writing should have properly formed sentences with correct rules of tenses amd sentence formation and there shouldn’t be a lot of errors in your grammar part. Along with this, range in this section means that you have to use a variety of structures which can include Complex sentences, conditional sentences, passive sentences and so on. Your language should be variant and flexible rather than being flat and repetitive.
TIPS TO FORM AN IMPRESSIVE TASK :

1.Preparation before writing – The first tip is that before starting to write your task 1 you should first understand and analyze your question and the figure which is provided to you.Take a quick scan and highlight the main features and contents that you come across.

2. Time management – Manage your time with a plan. First you should carry on the above mentioned step and then first make a judgement that which of the features would be included in which paragraph out of the two body paragraphs and then select which features can be compared with each other. You should spend 4-5 mins on this so that when you write you can avoid confusion.
3. The Introduction Paragraph – Never forget to paraphrase your introduction. The question that you’re working on should never be written as it is, it should be completely in your own words . Secondly, don’t mention anything extra in the introduction.

4. Overall paragraph: This part contains the main features of the task and is the most crucial part . In this you should include the highest and lowest features(graphs) or the main differences and similarities (maps) or as in the case of process, you should write the number of stages, type of resources and about the main and essential steps.
5. Body paragraphs: You should never skip making comparisons between features. Don’t write simple sentences about different figures and data, rather link and compare variant aspects along with using variety of structures and vocabulary. Also, avoid grammar errors as much as you can. Erroneous grammar can snatch your chance of a good task 1.
