How to Score 8 Band in IELTS Reading short time?
IELTS scoring 8 band is a dream that every student want to make true but very few of them succeed in it. Today we will share some Do’s that will help you in scoring more in less time.
So what is stopping you?
Tips and tricks are not really work and they are not helping you to get a high band. Things like – everything is in order – read just the first and last sentences of each paragraph – skim the whole text to get the main points. I don’t want to go over these in this article but rather be more positive about what you should be doing.
Keep it simple
Some students get confused with tips, tricks and strategies they find it difficult to skim, scan and follow the instructions which are flooded on internet. If you are also facing same problem release yourself from this web and make it simple. See how you are comfortable in solving the question and make your own way or simply just answer a question and move on.
Be systematic- Most of the student don’t analyze the sentence carefully and just go through it. This waste your time, analyze it properly and if you find most of your keywords than you are at the right place but if you don’t then try to search in some other place of the text so that you can get the right answer. Sometimes the answer don’t match the question grammatically and student forcefully tries to adjust it this I totally wrong.
Keep moving- In Listening and reading you should not stick to one question and should move on. Talking about Listening if you don’t get any answer don’t think about it too much just move forward otherwise you will penalized with some more. In Reading you get one minute to solve 1 question and if you stay more than this limit on single question the chances of running out of time will increase so the best way is to leave it and move on.
Don’t Panic- It’s true that there is tremendous pressure during exam and its natural to get nervous or panic, but this is not a good sign to score good. Practice a lot so that in the exam you don’t get surprised to see any question types or run out of time. Read every instruction carefully and follow your pattern to solve the question don’t do new experiments in the exam.
Use the information you already know to help you- As you will go through the paragraph you will have a good knowledge about the content in the text you can use this to find the answers. In case you don’t find any answer try to locate the untouched section of the paragraph.
Keep practicing – Practice practice and practice no one becomes master of anything in a single day one have to practice a lot. In IELTS practice will make you faster and accurate this will help you to get good score in less time.
With Best Wishes!
