
Health Vocabulary

Eggs – the oval object with a hard shell that is produced by female birds, especially chickens, eaten as food.
Sentence – Beat up the eggs before you add the flour.

Beans – a seed, or the pod containing seeds, of various climbing plants, eaten as a vegetable.
Sentence – The beans will only germinate if the temperature is warm enough.

Milk – the white liquid produced by cows, goats, and sheep and used by humans as a drink or for making butter, cheese, etc.
Sentence – A cart full of milk – bottles rattled past.

Cheese – a food made from milk, or from a milk-like substance taken from plants, that can be either firm or soft and is usually yellow or white in colour.
Sentence – Lunch was a feast of meat and vegetables, cheese, yoghurt and fruit, with unlimited wine.

Yoghurt – a slightly sour, thick liquid made from milk with bacteria added to it, sometimes eaten plain and sometimes with sugar, fruit, etc. added.

Fruit – the soft part containing seeds that is produced by a plant. Many types of fruit are sweet and can be eaten.

Vegetable – a plant, root, seed, or pod that is used as food, especially in dishes that are not sweet.

Citrus Fruits – a tree of a genus that includes citron, lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit. Native to Asia, citrus trees are cultivated in warm countries for their fruit.

Green Pepper – a shiny, green vegetable with a hollow centre. Green peppers can be eaten uncooked or cooked.

Blackcurrant – a small, round, dark purple fruit that grows on a bush and is usually cooked before being eaten.

Medicine – treatment for illness or injury, or the study of this.
Sentence – The doctor advised about many things other than medicine.

Treatment – the way you deal with or behave towards someone or something
Sentence – Without treatment, she will almost certainly die.

Remedy – a successful way of curing an illness or dealing with a problem or difficulty.
Sentence – These tablets will do nothing to remedy my sore throat.

Nursing Care – Nursing encompasses autonomous and collaborative care of individuals of all ages, families, groups and communities, sick or well and in all settings.

Regular Exercise – Regular physical activity can improve your muscle strength and boost your endurance.
