Type1
Multiple choice questions
Here, you are given an incomplete sentence and are supposed to select the most suitable option given further to make it complete. You will be required to select either
* one option out of four
* two options out of five
* three options out of seven
The questions come in the sequence as the text is written.

Type 2
True/False/Not given
Here, the student is provided a set of statements. The instruction which is given asks whether the given question statement agrees with the text. Accordingly, student answers true/false or not given.
The test taker usually gets confused between false and not given.
*false is marked if the information contradicts with the text
* not given is marked in absence of information in the text

The student is expected to identify the information delivered in the text.
Type 3 yes/no/not given
Identifying the claims of writer
Here you are given some statements and are demanded to understand whether the statement agrees with the writer’s opinions
*no is marked when passage disagrees with the question statement
*not given is marked in case of missing information

You are judged on the basis of your capabilities to recognize the main idea shared by the writer.
Type 4
Matching
Here, a student is given many labeled paragraphs in a passage such as A, B, C etcetera. You need to find out which statement is found in which paragraph of the passage. After figuring out you will be expected to write the letter in front of question statement and then finally your answer’s space.

Whether you can skim and scan a paragraph by superficial reading.
Type 5
This type of questions usually seem tough to students but are not so. A list of headings with marking as i, ii, iii, iv etcetera is given. Here as well in a passage all the paragraphs are labeled with letters A, B etcetera. You need to find the gist of paragraph A or whatever the question be and then match with the given list. The option which seems correct is marked in the form of numbers as listed on answer sheet. Here more headings are given to make it even tough for students to decide.

Here a person’s ability to find the crux and theme of a paragraph is checked.
Type 6
Matching features
Here you will be given a set of statements having different opinions or any piece of information and as per the options given matching will be done. For an instance, different events could be given to you in form of statements and options can be different time periods. Some options might not come in use and some even can repeat.

Your sense of finding connections between different facts is assessed.
Type 7
Here an incomplete sentence beginning is given. Alongside a list of options will be given containing rest halves of the statements. Options again can be more in number than those of questions. Questions are in sequence of paragraphs given.

Main idea of the sentence is needed to be understood.
Type 8
Summary/ note / table / flow chart
Here some gaps are given in different questions in relation to the text. These questions can come with answer bank or without answer bank. If options are given, student selects word from that list only, otherwise the best suitable word from the text is written. It’s not necessary here that answers will be in sequence.

Diagram labeling
Here an incompletely labeled diagram is given with proper explanation in text. You will complete missing labels. Diagram can be related to any machine, building etcetera.

Short answer questions
Here you answer questions directly as per the need and text given. Here instructions play a vital role as you might be needed to write no more than three words/ two words/ one word with or without a number.
