In Part 2 Reading during PTE Academic, there are numerous ways to increase your chances of scoring a high score .To improve your reading module, practice increasing your reading speed and comprehension at the same time. In return, your writing, grammar and vocabulary skills will improve. As you have limited time to answer all the questions, you should be able to read fast and use effective reading strategies to do well on this part of the test.
Speed reading tasks help you improve your reading speed. Practice speed reading daily and do the following:
Try to read at least 220 words per minute
Read short articles of around 300 words

Read short and often
Once you’re comfortable with comprehension and speed, focus on blocks of words (phrases) instead of individual words. After you reach a satisfactory level of reading comprehension, you will be able to answer questions with greater confidence.
Multiple choice, choose a single answer questions:
In multiple-choice, single-answer question types, some test takers make the mistake of reading, scanning and matching words in the text with words in the answer. In general, words in the text are not used for correct answers. Therefore, it is important to learn how to use synonyms and paraphrases in your tests.

Multiple choice, select multiple answers:
This type of question takes longer than multiple-choice, single-answer type questions because you have to carefully read the stem (the part before the choices) as well as the choices and then continue reading the text. Move around the screen until you find the piece of text that contains the information in the trunk. Read the options carefully and match the meaning of the options with the text. Don’t match words. This is where candidates can make mistakes. Also, you have to be careful not to select all the choices as you will lose points if you make a wrong choice. However, the score cannot be less than zero.
Re-order paragraphs:
To get good results with paragraph reordering questions, you need to have a thorough understanding of cohesive devices and how they work. You also need to understand how articles work and how information is organized logically and chronologically. This type of question allows you to skim the text and get an idea about the topic of the text.

Every sentence from there should be read carefully.For paragraph reordering, questions read all sentences and determine which sentences fit perfectly and make sense. Arrange all sentences and cross out the combinations that do not fit together. Find sentences that begin with finally, lastly, first of all, and order them according to the chronology of events. You can practise this by reading English books and newspapers.

Fill in the blanks in reading and writing: fill the gap:
For this question type, you need to understand a wide range of vocabulary, collocations, grammar, pronouns, conjunctions, and recognize when multiple nouns are required. You should also be able to skim the text, grasp the meaning of the text, and read carefully before and after each blank space. If you’re not sure, you’ll have to guess based on context. Do not leave blank spaces. You do not have to complete all fields correctly to receive points.

For this task, you have to drag and drop words into empty spaces. Attention to technical details means you don’t have to drag and drop in haste. Put the word in the gap correctly. Then check again to see if the gap has been filled. After answering all the blanks, make sure the word you need is in the correct blanks and there are no blank spaces. After that, click the “Next” button. You can change your answers at any time before clicking the “Next” button. .
