Your students would have great assistance if they underline the keywords in the questions as it would be the good side to understand it and moreover to find the answer from the given text. This strategy can be applied not just to the open-ended questions, but also to the multiple-choice questions in the Reading Paper.
The keywords are nouns, adverbs, adjectives, or the verbs. Once the student have found it, it would be easier for them.
Analysing the text
In various sections of the Reading Paper, students will be assessed on their ability to identify information that is explicitly mentioned in the text. However, for other sections, including the open-ended questions, students will be asked to look for implied ideas.
