Modern children are suffering from the diseases that were once considered to be meant for adults only. Obesity is a major disease prevalent among children. What are its causes and what solutions can be offered?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge experience.
SAMPLE ANSWER:-
In good old days children used to be fit and healthy. However, now we are living in modern era which has witnessed a lot of changes. These days’ children are suffering from various health issues like obesity. There are children factors responsible for it and so immediate measures need to be taken. I would discuss both of them in the following paragraphs.
There are some causes of obesity. Primarily, children eat unhealthy food a lot these days. They like to eat fast food which is delicious and comes in variety. Moreover, parents also encourage packed food as they themselves do not have time to prepare food at home. This food does not have required nutrition that a child needs. As a result, he gains excessive fat and becomes obese. Moreover, now children remain busy in indoor activities like studying or gaming or watching television. So, they do not do any physical activity and as result are not able to digest food.
It is high time that steps should be taken,. Firstly, parents should encourage their offspring to eat healthy food, especially homemade food. Also, they should prepare a timetable for them which include sports activities as well. Secondly, schools should also take some responsibility. They should make homemade food compulsory in tiffin. Lastly, they should make sports subject mandatory. Nowadays very less sports activities are there, so they should increase them. With this at least they would play some games.
To include, I would like to state that this problem of obesity cannot be solved individually or overnight. Therefore, combined efforts of both parents and schools are required. It may take time but results are for sure.
