WRITING TASK 2 (AC+GT):-
Should wealthy nations be required to share their wealth and resources among poorer nations by providing such things as food and education? Or it is the responsibility of the governments of poorer nations to look after their citizen themselves?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
SAMPLE ANSWER:-
In bygone days countries were concerned about themselves was less exposure to the neighboring nations. However, now we are progressing towards modern era where many changes are emerging. These days’ countries help each other during the times of exigency. Some people think that affluent countries should help third world counties, while others believe that the under privileged nations should receive help from their government only.
There are certain reasons to support the first view. Firstly, poor nations need a start with which they can progress further. If wealthy countries would offer resources to them like eatables and education, then poverty stricken countries can improve their living conditions. Many countries like of Africa are suffering from malnutrition, chronic diseases etc. people are dying because of it and they do not even have pure water to drink. So, as an act of kindness, wealthy nations should give a healthy hand.
Secondly, there is a great economic inequality among countries worldwide. Developed countries are extremely rich and their citizens are blessed with all the basic and luxurious commodities. However, at the same time there are countries which are suffering from acute shortage of resources and cannot even improve because government itself does not have any resources. So, the first world countries can donate the basic necessities out of their funding, and also provide education, so that literacy rate could be improved. With education, youngsters of those countries could become optimistic and innovative.
On the other hand, some people are extremely against this notion. They think that poor countries would become dependent on these rich counties and would not do anything on their own. In addition to this, developed countries would never give funding for free and would charge some interest from them. This would increase the economic pressure on the poor countries and as in past; there are chances that they would be ruled by them. So, government should take some measures to improve the conditions of its citizens as many countries have shifted from the category of underdeveloped to developing ones.
To conclude, I would state that both the above said ideas are relevant. Nonetheless, as per my verdict, the first view is better and more effective than the second one. So, rich countries should provide aid to poor countries and improve their condition.
