IELTS Writing Task 2

International organizations often assist developing countries through financial support or practical guidance. While some believe monetary aid is the most beneficial, others argue that practical assistance and advice bring greater long-term progress. Both perspectives will be discussed before presenting my view.

On the one hand, financial aid plays a crucial role in helping developing nations meet urgent needs. Many countries lack resources to invest in infrastructure, healthcare, and education. International funding enables governments to build roads, schools, and hospitals, which directly improve citizens’ lives. Additionally, in emergencies such as natural disasters or economic crises, quick financial assistance can save lives and stabilize economies.

On the other hand, practical aid and professional guidance often create more sustainable outcomes. Money can easily be misused due to corruption or poor management, whereas skill training and technical advice empower people to help themselves. For example, teaching farmers modern cultivation methods or supporting governments with policy-making enhances self-reliance. Practical assistance builds human capacity, encourages innovation, and reduces long-term dependency on foreign aid.

In my opinion, while financial help is necessary in the short term, practical support is more valuable in the long run. Knowledge transfer and skill development create lasting progress and allow developing nations to stand on their own feet.

In conclusion, both financial and practical aid are essential, but practical guidance ensures sustainable growth and independence.
