While some argue that its most important purpose should be to enhance creativity, this view overlooks the fact that technology is fundamentally designed to solve problems and improve efficiency. Its primary value lies in advancing human well-being rather than serving as a tool for artistic expression.

One of technology’s most critical functions is addressing real-world challenges. In healthcare, for instance, breakthroughs such as robotic surgery and MRI machines have revolutionised patient care, enabling doctors to diagnose and treat illnesses with unparalleled precision. Similarly, in engineering, the development of technological innovations to design and construct earthquake-resistant buildings has significantly reduced the impact of natural disasters. These advancements are driven by necessity, demonstrating that technology’s chief purpose is to enhance safety, functionality, and quality of life rather than to encourage artistic creativity.

Beyond problem-solving, technology plays a vital role in enhancing efficiency and productivity. Automation in manufacturing, for example, has streamlined production, reducing human labour input while increasing output.
