SAMPLE ANSWER
Over time, we have witnessed the growing influence of the Internet on people’s lives. The Internet has proven to be a convenient and useful tool. For example, buying and selling through e-commerce is done online. While most people think that the Internet is economically beneficial, others are worried about the loss of face-to-face communication. Though I understand their worries, I think we should view the Internet as the important tool that it is. Overall, it works hand in hand with face-to-face interactions rather than rendering the latter obsolete.
I believe that the Internet does not replace face-to-face communication. On the contrary, I think the former enhances the latter. For example, when we are too busy to go out, we can order food online. At the same time, we can also go to a restaurant to eat with our friends if we choose to enjoy our mealtimes with our significant others. Since many people still enjoy going shopping and eating out, the Internet has not replaced face-to-face interactions. As we can see, relationships with online and personal communication can all be successful and applicable, depending on the current need and situation of a person. They do not replace each other.
It should also be noted that face-to-face communication is not always practical for business- people. Many people do business all over the world. Understandably, it may be too costly for an American businessman to visit his company headquarters in Vietnam every month, so he does business online instead. It is also the same with Vietnamese businesspeople. Nowadays, people do not always have to manage their business affairs in person. The expense and inconvenience are eliminated by cyber-meetings. At the same time, crucial business dealing is often conducted in person when discussing important matters. This shows that both online and offline interactions are valuable in their own way.
In conclusion, the Internet is a valuable tool to people for personal and business communication alike. Technology becomes a useful alternative if face-to-face communication is not efficient or convenient. In addition, the Internet adds more value to face-to-face communication instead of being a replacement.
