What is your full name?
My full name is Komal Sharma. Most people just call me Komal, which I prefer because it sounds friendly and simple.

Do you like your name?
Yes, I really like it. It’s easy to pronounce and remember, and I feel it suits me well. I wouldn’t want to change it.

Have you ever wanted to change your name?
Not really. I feel attached to it because it connects me to my family and culture. Changing it would feel like losing part of my identity.

Is there much pollution in your city?
Unfortunately, yes. My city has issues with air pollution, especially during winter. The traffic and construction activities make it worse.

What do you do to protect the environment?
I try to avoid using plastic bags, save electricity, and plant trees whenever I can. Small steps like these can make a big difference.

Do you think people are more environmentally aware now?
Yes, definitely. More people are talking about recycling and climate change than ever before, especially the younger generation.

What environmental problems are common in your country?
The major ones are air pollution, water contamination, and deforestation. These problems are serious but can be managed with stricter laws and public cooperation.

Do you think it’s important to protect the environment?
Absolutely. The environment is our home. If we don’t take care of it, we’ll face problems like global warming, floods, and loss of biodiversity.

Describe a teacher who has influenced you.

A teacher who had a great influence on me was Mrs. Mehta, my English teacher during my final years of high school. She was one of those rare teachers who truly understood her students and knew how to bring out the best in them.

She taught English literature, but her lessons went far beyond the textbook. She used stories, movies, and even real-life situations to explain complex ideas, which made every class exciting and meaningful. What I admired most about her was her passion for teaching — she always entered the classroom with a big smile and a positive attitude that instantly lifted everyone’s mood.

Mrs. Mehta treated every student with equal respect, no matter how good or bad they were at English. When I used to hesitate while speaking in front of the class, she would gently encourage me, saying, “Confidence grows when you stop worrying about mistakes.” That advice completely changed the way I viewed learning.

What qualities make a good teacher?
In my opinion, a good teacher should be patient, understanding, and passionate about their subject. They should also know how to make lessons interesting and adapt their teaching style to suit different students. A great teacher doesn’t just focus on marks — they help students develop curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

Do you think teachers should be strict?
I think a teacher should maintain discipline, but being too strict can make students afraid to express themselves. The best teachers balance authority with friendliness. A little firmness helps students stay focused, but kindness and encouragement make learning more effective and enjoyable.

How has teaching changed in recent years?
Teaching has changed a lot, mainly due to technology. Nowadays, teachers use smart boards, online lessons, and digital tools to make classes interactive. Students can also learn from videos and apps outside the classroom. However, I think the emotional connection between a teacher and student is still as important as before — technology can’t replace that.

Many people become teachers because they genuinely enjoy helping others learn. Teaching gives them a sense of purpose — they can shape young minds and contribute to society. For some, it’s also a family tradition or a passion that grows over time. It’s a profession that may not always bring huge money, but it offers immense satisfaction.

Do you think teachers are respected in your country?
Yes, teachers are respected in my country, especially by students and parents who value education. However, I feel that in today’s fast-paced world, the importance of teachers is sometimes overlooked. They deserve more recognition, better pay, and social appreciation for the vital role they play in shaping future generations.
