Not really. I feel attached to it because it reflects my identity and family background.

How do you usually keep yourself healthy?
I try to maintain a balanced diet, exercise regularly, and get enough sleep. I also go for morning walks to stay active.

Do you think you have a healthy lifestyle?
Yes, mostly. I avoid junk food and prefer home-cooked meals. However, sometimes my busy schedule makes it hard to exercise daily.

I usually rest at home, drink plenty of fluids, and if it doesn’t get better, I visit a doctor for proper treatment.

Absolutely. The government should organize health awareness campaigns and provide better public facilities for exercise and clean food.

One person who shows her feelings very openly is my best friend, Riya. We met during our college days and quickly became close because of her friendly and expressive nature.

IELTS SPEAKING TEST

Riya is the kind of person who wears her heart on her sleeve. If she’s happy, she can’t stop smiling and laughing, and if something upsets her, she doesn’t hide it — you can instantly tell from her face and tone. I remember once when she received a small handmade card from our classmates on her birthday, she literally got tears in her eyes and hugged everyone tightly.

She’s also very vocal about her opinions and doesn’t hesitate to say what she truly feels. I think she behaves this way because she believes that hiding emotions only creates misunderstandings. Personally, I really admire this quality because it makes her a very genuine and trustworthy person. You always know where you stand with her, and that’s something I truly value in a friendship.

Do you think it is good to show feelings openly?
Yes, I believe expressing feelings openly is generally a positive trait because it fosters honesty and strengthens relationships. When people share their emotions, it creates a sense of trust and understanding. For instance, in friendships or family relationships, being open about how you feel helps prevent misunderstandings and shows that you care about the other person. However, in professional environments, it’s important to balance emotional expression with professionalism, so you don’t appear too emotional or unbalanced.

What are the advantages of hiding emotions?
Hiding emotions can sometimes be beneficial, especially in situations where reacting impulsively might escalate conflicts. For example, if someone receives criticism at work, staying calm and composed rather than showing anger immediately can help them handle the situation more effectively. It also allows people to think clearly and make rational decisions without being overwhelmed by their feelings. Nevertheless, constantly suppressing emotions can lead to stress and may harm personal relationships in the long run.

Do people’s behavior show their personality?
Absolutely. I think the way someone expresses their emotions is a reflection of their inner personality. For example, someone who is open and expressive often appears more approachable, trustworthy, and empathetic, while someone who is reserved may seem more cautious or private. Observing how people react in different situations can reveal their character traits, such as patience, resilience, or kindness.

IELTS SPEAKING TEST

Do men and women express emotions differently?
Culturally and socially, men and women often express emotions differently. In many societies, women are encouraged to be more expressive, showing happiness, sadness, or concern freely. Men, on the other hand, are sometimes expected to remain stoic, which can make it harder for them to share emotions openly. However, these stereotypes are gradually changing, and more men are learning that expressing emotions is not a weakness but a sign of emotional intelligence.
