IELTS SPEAKING FULL INTERVIEW
PART – 1 INTRO PART
What is your full name?
My name is Jashan Rawal.
How may I address you?
You may address me as Jashan.
May I see your ID?
Sure, here it is.
Do you like the area that you live in currently?
I have recently moved to Indira Nagar in Adyar. I purchased an apartment here after I got a hike in my Company. It is covered by trees on both sides of the road. It is quite sedate. I takepride in myself for buying an apartment here.
Do you know any famous people in your local area?
Well, I know some people from the Exnora and Rotary clubs. I love to get indulged in Exnora’s activities like planting saplings and join the rotary club in its service-oriented activities.
Where do you like to go, in that area?
Adyar is quite big. I want to go to Lattice Bridge road where there are merchants of different types. It is a bustling road, but I love to take an evening stroll. It is intriguing to see people roaming busily across the street.
What are some recent changes in your local area?
There are lots of boutiques coming up. Also, I saw a new beauty parlour on my way home last night. Some residents have sold their houses, and flats are being constructed in those places.
What is the hardest part of making plans?
It’s about prioritizing. It isn’t easy to decide the order in which you have to take up the tasks. I often keep wondering whether I should do yoga first or prepare breakfast.

PART – 2 CUE CARD
Describe a place where you want to work
You should say:
• where it is
• what kind of work you would like to do
• when you would like to work there
And explain why you want to work in this place
SAMPLE ANSWER
Well, the place that I have always wanted to work but have yet had the chance to visit is Tokyo, the capital city of Japan.
I have been dreaming to work in this city ever since I learned about it from a travel and lifestyle channel. And even though it is considered as a major cosmopolitan city, I’m always amazed at its ability to preserve the cultural aspect of Japan. The existence of such marvellous temples in the centre of the city, or the sight of Japanese women wearing kimonos just seems quite amazing to me. Apart from this, the city where I live, Hanoi, is currently suffering from a serious air pollution problem, so it would be a nice break to be able to find a job in one of the cleaner countries in the world.
Recently, there have been many agencies and organizations that help to assist undergraduates or newly-graduated students to find employment in Japan, and so if everything goes according to plan, in about 6 months I will start working as a marketing intern for an English centre located in Ginza, which is one of the busiest streets in Tokyo. Fingers crossed that everything goes according to plan and I am able to enter a completely new phase in my life.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS
What kind of jobs do young people prefer?
The young generation likes to do jobs that involve creativity and where they can work independently. They also look for jobs that are well paid and require less physical effort. In our country, most of the graduates are employed in the IT industry. I think they like to work as programmers or IT administrators.
Some people will lose their jobs because of technology, how to deal with it?
I think it is the responsibility of the government to skill these people on new technologies so that they can find new jobs. Otherwise, there would be large scale unemployment, which would be detrimental to society.
Will you settle down in another country?
Yes, if I get a good job opportunity in a developed country, I would like to settle there. I feel if a person does not settle early then he or she will never achieve success and will always lead a stressful life.
