Do you usually make your friends laugh?
Yes, I do! I enjoy making my friends laugh, especially during casual conversations or when we’re sharing stories. I’m not a professional comedian, but I can be quite witty when the moment feels right.
Are you the kind of person who makes people laugh?
I would say yes. I have a light-hearted personality and like to crack jokes or use playful sarcasm. I think humor helps break the ice and brings people closer together.
IELTS Speaking Test
When was the last time you laughed?
Actually, just yesterday! I was watching a funny video online, and it made me laugh out loud. It was a clip of a pet doing something totally unexpected—it was hilarious!
In what situations do people usually laugh?
People tend to laugh when they hear or see something amusing or surprising. Laughter also comes naturally in social gatherings, during light conversations, or when recalling funny memories.
Do you like to make people laugh?
Yes, very much. Seeing someone smile or laugh because of something I said really makes me happy. It’s a great way to create a positive atmosphere.

Do you like watching funny TV shows?
Absolutely! Comedies are my go-to when I want to relax. I love sitcoms like Friends or Brooklyn Nine-Nine. They’re great for unwinding after a long day.
Do you think it’s important for friends to have the same sense of humour?
Yes, I believe it really helps. If friends laugh at the same things, it makes communication easier and more enjoyable. A shared sense of humor can strengthen the bond.
Do you often use numbers to do something?
Yes, especially when I’m budgeting or managing time. I often calculate expenses, keep track of dates, or use numbers for measurements when cooking.
IELTS Speaking Test
Are you good at memorizing numbers?
Not really. I tend to forget long numbers easily unless I use them often, like my phone number or PIN code. I usually save numbers on my phone instead of trying to remember them.
What is your favourite number?
My favourite number is 7. I’ve always considered it lucky, and it seems to appear often in my life—whether it’s a date, a jersey number, or even in quizzes.
IELTS Speaking Test
Are you good at numbers?
I’m decent, but I wouldn’t call myself a math genius. I can handle basic arithmetic and logic problems, but I sometimes struggle with complex calculations or equations.
Would you like to have a job dealing with numbers?
To be honest, not really. While I respect those who work in finance or data, I prefer creative or people-focused roles. Working with numbers all day sounds a bit too repetitive for me.

PART – 2 CUE CARD
Describe an accident that you have seen.
You should say:
– Where did this happen
– What was the cause of the accident
– What happened after the accident
And explain what you felt about the accident.
SAMPLE ANSWER
I vividly remember an accident I witnessed about a year ago when I was traveling to work. It happened on a busy intersection in the heart of my city, near a large shopping mall.
That morning, the traffic was unusually heavy, and visibility was slightly poor due to light rain. As I waited at the pedestrian crossing, I saw a motorcyclist trying to overtake a bus at high speed. Suddenly, a car coming from the opposite direction made a sharp turn without using its indicator. The motorcyclist couldn’t brake in time and crashed into the side of the car. The impact threw the rider off the bike, and he landed hard on the road.

Immediately, bystanders rushed to help. Someone called an ambulance, and others assisted in moving the rider to the side of the road. Fortunately, he was wearing a helmet, which likely saved his life. The paramedics arrived within 10 minutes and took him to the hospital.
Witnessing the accident left me shaken. I felt a mix of fear, concern, and sadness. It made me realize how fragile life is and how one reckless moment on the road can lead to serious consequences. Since then, I’ve become a much more cautious pedestrian and driver.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS
What are the main causes of road accidents in your country?
In my country, the leading causes of road accidents include overspeeding, reckless driving, drunk driving, and ignoring traffic rules. Additionally, poor road conditions and lack of proper signage in rural areas contribute significantly. Many drivers are also distracted by mobile phones while driving, which increases the risk of accidents.
What can the government do to reduce the number of accidents?
The government can take several measures to reduce accidents. Firstly, strict enforcement of traffic laws is essential. Installing speed cameras and conducting random checks for drunk driving can help deter reckless behavior. Secondly, investing in better road infrastructure, such as clear signage, pedestrian crossings, and well-maintained roads, can make a big difference. Lastly, public awareness campaigns that promote safe driving habits through media and schools can be very effective in the long term.
IELTS Speaking Test
Do people in your country follow traffic rules strictly? Why or why not?
Unfortunately, in many parts of my country, traffic rules are not followed strictly. This is mainly due to a lack of awareness, a culture of impatience, and sometimes corruption, where people get away with violating rules. However, in urban areas, things are gradually improving thanks to better surveillance and education.
Should young drivers be given special training before they get a license?
Absolutely. Young drivers are often inexperienced and prone to taking risks. Special training programs that focus on real-life scenarios, defensive driving, and handling emergencies can prepare them better. Additionally, a longer probation period with stricter monitoring could help instill safer habits.
