What’s your favourite vegetable and fruit?

My top three are broccoli, celery and grape because all of them are both nutritious and delicious. Also, I want to give mushrooms an honourable mention as they are one of my favourite things to cook with, although they are a fungus.

How often do you eat fruits?

I think I eat fruits at home on a daily basis. I always buy a lots of different fruits in the shopping mall in the weekends for my whole family.

Are there any special fruits in your hometown?

Oh yes, there are loquat trees everywhere in my hometown. Loquat is very sweet and has lots of nutrition and can become medicine.

Should we eat vegetables every day?

Yes, we do. We really need to eat vegetables every day because you simply cannot find another food group that is as perfectly matched to our everyday human needs as vegetables. There are various protein, fibre and vitamin that cannot be found in other food like meat.

Is the news important to you?

Yes, I feel that it’s very important for me and other people to know what happened in the domestic and international events.

What kinds of news do Chinese people read in newspapers?

It’s kind of hard to say but people that I know around me tend to read the political news because they are interested in what happens in the domestic country and abroad, but maybe for others, they just care more about the sports and fashion events.

Do you prefer to read about domestic (or local) news or international news? (Why?)

Well, if I were to choose between the two, I’ll probably go with reading domestic news because they are closer to home, and affects me more; whereas, you know, international news sometimes have nothing to do with my daily life, so I just read the headlines.

One concert that really made an impression on me was the live performance of Coldplay during their “A Head Full of Dreams” tour. It was a pop-rock concert, and I saw them perform at a large stadium in London a few years ago.

Musically, the concert was amazing. Coldplay is known for their energetic live shows, and they didn’t disappoint. They performed a mix of their most popular hits, like Viva La Vida, Fix You, and Adventure of a Lifetime. What stood out to me was how tight the band was. The instruments were perfectly synchronized, and Chris Martin’s voice was so powerful, especially when he sang Fix You — it gave me goosebumps. The transitions between songs were smooth, and the audience was always engaged, singing along and creating a really special atmosphere.

Visually, the concert was a feast for the eyes. The stage was enormous, with huge LED screens showing colorful, vibrant animations. During certain songs, they had confetti falling from the ceiling, and thousands of fans were waving light-up wristbands that changed color, creating a beautiful sea of lights throughout the stadium. There were also aerial acrobats and dazzling light shows, which made the whole experience feel larger than life.

What really made me like the concert was the sense of community and joy it created. The music was uplifting and emotional, and the way the band interacted with the crowd made it feel very personal, even though we were in a massive stadium. It was an experience that felt like more than just a concert — it felt like a shared moment of happiness, and I think that’s why it left such a lasting impression on me.

Do you think live music is more exciting than recorded music?

Yes, I definitely think live music is more exciting. There’s something about the energy of being in the crowd and seeing the artists perform live that makes the music feel more alive. The spontaneous moments, like the band interacting with the crowd or the crowd’s reactions to certain songs, can make the experience unforgettable. Plus, the sound and atmosphere are much more immersive.

How important do you think visuals are in a concert or music video?

I think visuals are very important because they add another layer to the music. When you watch a live performance or a music video, the visuals help to tell the story of the song in a way that enhances the music. For example, in the Coldplay concert, the colorful lights and confetti made the music feel even more magical, and it created a deeper emotional connection. The visuals can make a song feel more memorable.

Would you say the atmosphere of the audience is key to enjoying a concert?

Absolutely. The audience plays a huge role in creating the atmosphere at a concert. When the crowd is excited, singing along, and really engaging with the music, it makes the experience feel much more energetic and alive. There’s a kind of shared energy that builds, and it can make the concert feel even more powerful than just listening to the music on your own.
