IELTS Speaking Test
Are you a social person?
Very much so! I feel that I thrive on (survive) social interactions. I like a small amount of time to myself each day, but I feel most charged when I spend time with others. I prefer to spend my free time with friends or family rather than being in my room reading a book, for instance.
Do you use social networking sites?
Yes, social networking websites have become part of my everyday life. My favourite one is Facebook, one of the most popular websites in the world, with millions of users in different countries.
What kind of people do you like to be friends with on those websites?
All kinds! I am friends with a wide range of people from my school years, family members, and friends I’ve recently met. I’m even friends with people who I’ve never even met before.

Do you like to use Facebook?
Yes, I love it! This social networking website allows me to keep in contact with my friends and find people you’ve lost touch with.
How did you first find out about Facebook?
As far as I remember, one of my friends sent me an email inviting me to join Facebook. I signed up and I’ve been using it ever since.
Will you use these sites more in the future?
Well, I’m trying to refrain myself from these sites, as I find myself quite addicted to entertaining contents on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc. and squandering too much time on them. So I’d say I’m about to make a change and make less use of such online networking platforms.

One experience that stands out was during the summer of 2021, when the temperature soared to an unbearable 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit). I was on vacation with my family in a coastal city known for its beautiful beaches.
To cope with the heat, we spent most of our days at the beach, swimming in the ocean and lounging under umbrellas. I remember wearing a light cotton tank top, shorts, and flip-flops. I also made sure to wear plenty of sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat to protect myself from the sun.

While I generally enjoy warm weather, that particular heatwave was overwhelming. I loved the beach activities and the vibrant atmosphere, but I found it difficult to stay cool and comfortable. Sometimes, the heat made me feel a bit lethargic, and I had to take breaks to hydrate and find shade.
Overall, I appreciate warm weather for the outdoor activities it offers, but extreme heat can be quite exhausting. I prefer temperatures that are warm but not scorching, allowing me to enjoy the sun without feeling drained.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS
Do you prefer hot or cold weather? Why?
I generally prefer mild to warm weather. It allows for more outdoor activities like hiking or picnics without the discomfort of extreme heat or cold. However, I do enjoy cozying up in winter with hot chocolate and snow activities.
How do you usually prepare for extreme weather?
For extreme heat, I make sure to wear breathable clothing, stay hydrated, and plan activities during cooler parts of the day. In winter, I layer up with thermal wear, a good coat, and accessories like gloves and scarves to stay warm.

How does the weather affect your mood?
The weather definitely impacts my mood. Sunny days boost my energy and make me feel more social, while gloomy or cold days can make me feel a bit sluggish or introspective. I think it’s natural to be influenced by the environment around us.
