IELTS SPEAKING INTERVIEW
PART – 1 INTRO
What is your full name?
My name is Rekha Sharma.
How may I address you?
You may address me as Rekha.
May I see your ID?
Sure, here you go.
Do you like bags?
Bags are not really a must-have item for me. I just use a backpack for convenience. I’ll probably spend some time getting to know more about bags later on.
IELTS Speaking Interview
What types of bags do you like?
I’m not a big fan of this item so the only bag I use from time to time is my backpack. I love backpacks because I tend to put a lot of heavy stuff inside such as my laptop, my water bottles, etc. whenever I get outdoors. It’s the long-term convenience that makes high-quality backpacks worth my money.
Do you usually carry a bag (when you go out)?
As mentioned before, I carry my backpack all the time, when I go to school or hang out with friends. Although it may not give me a fashionable look, I think comfort and convenience is the top priority to me.
Do you like flowers? (Why?)
Yes, I do like flowers. As an introvert, sometimes, I find myself feeling peaceful and relaxed while enjoying nice flowers in my garden. I have a habit of taking pictures of flowers after the rain. I feel most at peace spending chunks of a good time on my own, in relative silence, contemplating the beauty of flowers with raindrops through my camera lens.
IELTS Speaking Interview
Which/What is your favourite flower?
White roses are truly my favourite flower. They are traditionally associated with marriages and new beginnings. However, their beauty has also made them a gesture of remembrance. Therefore, a bouquet of white rose is a perfect way to say “I’m thinking of you”.
Do you think flowers are important?
For an introvert like me, enjoying the harmonization of various types of flowers with different gorgeous colours in the garden or in florist shops could brighten up my days and lift my spirits.

PART – 2 CUE CARD
Talk about a math skill that you learnt in your primary school
You Should Say:
– What was it?
– How did you learnt it
– do you find it useful and how it is useful
– And explain how it will be beneficial for you in future
SAMPLE ANSWER
I learnt many math skills in my elementary school – such as counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. I was good at all of them. In fact math was my favourite subject in primary school
Here I would like to talk about counting. Our teacher used to teach us this skill by making dots or dashes and asking us to count them. Sometimes we were taught to count on our fingertips. Sometimes we were shown pictures of objects and we had to count them. Counting is very useful in our day to day life. We use this skill for measurements and buying and selling.
We need to do counting while using money and other things. Even housewives use this skill while working in the kitchen. They have to count the ingredients used in making various dishes and also need to do counting for measuring things. Counting is the base of all other math skills like addition, subtraction and multiplication.
In the future also counting will definitely be needed in each and every field. Everybody needs to count in his daily life at some time or the other. Without the basic skill life is un-imaginable. I remember, Mrs Sushma was my math teacher in primary school. She used to be my favourite teacher.
That’s why math become my favourite subject at school. It is because of this skill that today I am successful.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS
Where do you think can gain more practical skills? In schools or other places?
I think I gain most of practical skills through works. It does not limit to the actual place, I believe. Because personally I learn them through the student work I did when I was in the Student Union of my university. That helped me a lot after I left the school and attend to work.
What kind of practical skills do you want to learn in the future? Why?
I want to learn python as soon as possible! I am an in-house lawyer and I have to deal with a large number of files and track the condition of the contracts. After learning python, I can write small programs for office automation, which can save a lot of times and work less overtime.
