IELTS SPEAKING INTERVIEW
PART – 1 INTRO
What is your full name?
My name is Aad Jugad.
How may I address you?
You may address me as Aad.
May I see your ID?
Sure, here it is.
How important is the internet to you?
Extremely important. I depend on it for work, research, study and entertainment, so without it I’d be complete lost.
How often do you use the internet?
I use it constantly throughout the day, every day. I check my emails when I get up in the morning, I use it for work all day and then I watch videos, read books or listen to music through it at night.

Do you use it more for work or in your free time?
I’d say both really. About 50% of my job involves researching and writing on the internet so I would use it for about 4 hours a day. When I get home, I’m normally too tired to go to the gym or play sports so it is really easy to download a movie or stream some music and I normally do that until I fall asleep.
What are your favourite websites?
For work my two favourite sites are WordPress and Google. WordPress is a blogging tool that allows you to publish blogs easily and maintain a professional looking website. Google of course allows me to find the information I need quickly and accurately. In my spare time, I of course use Facebook like everyone else in the world, but my favourite site is The Guardian because it allows me to keep up to date with everything that’s happening.

Model Answer
Today I’ll tell you about how I used to want to be like my sister when I was younger. She was always the popular, scholarly type, while I was sort of the unfocused, social outcast type. I always struggled with my weight when I was younger even though I ate pretty healthily, whereas my sister always had a perfect, thin physique even while eating junk food constantly.
I’ll explain it more in-depth. My sister is 2 years older than me, and we grew up together. She was always at the top of her class, even though she studied very little. I remember her saying that she would forget to study, but still get nearly 100% on her exams, even through her college years.
Moreover, she had a natural athletic ability with very little effort. She could take up a new sport and be good at it at the drop of a hat! I envied her swimming and basketball skills, especially. Apart from this, she was the thin, pretty blonde girl that everyone wanted to be friends with, although she didn’t have to put effort into being nice to people.

Another thing I looked up to her for was that it was easy for her to speak her mind. When I was younger especially, I always found it difficult to speak up even when I was being treated unfairly. Reflecting back, I think what I most wished to inherit from her was her ability to do everything at ease. It seems like I always had to put more effort into school to get good grades, be fit, have friends, etc, so I wished those things could come easier. I especially wished I had her athletic ability, as I would like to do more physical activity.
Furthermore, I wish I didn’t have to spend countless hours studying and even meeting with a tutor to get good grades. However, as I’ve gotten older, I realize that we cannot compare ourselves to other people because we all have different strengths and weaknesses. Still, I admire her for her abilities as well as her outspokenness.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS
1.What qualities do you think are necessary for a respected person?
There are many qualities a person should possess to be admired, such as bravery, kindness, and respect for nature. But the most important quality is the usefulness of this person, admired by others.
2.Which celebrity do you think deserves more admiration? Politician, author, athlete, movie star?
I don’t think a person should be praised for any particular talent they have. Their humanity should be admired. If a movie star is very popular and successful, but not good, similarly, politicians who have no compassion for the poor should not be respected. If they do some extraordinary work, then they should be admired.
3.Do you think scientists and soldiers deserve more praise?
Scientists and soldiers deserve to be admired and recognized for their selfless service to the Fatherland. Only the most qualified men and women can fill these positions and for that, we are indebted for their services. They sacrifice their personal life for the country, this is the main reason I think they should be admired by all citizens.
4.Do you think people who are famous are more admired than others?
On average, you would find at least most of them to be good, generous, kind, and caring people. You may be tempted to believe that these people are the “better” people. But you might be wrong. The truth is that being successful will make people see you as a better person. Why? Our brains are randomly programmed to assume that good things happen to good people and bad things happen to bad people.
5.What kind of person do you admire?
Well, I guess a person who helps me out of dangerous situations; a person who has better qualities of living life than me, is admired by me, as I would be able to learn something from them and able to have a better life than the present.
