IELTS SPEAKING INTERVIEW
PART – 1 INTRO
What is your name?
My name is Tasdhi Yahika.
How may I address you?
You may address me as Tasdhi.
May I see your ID?
Sure, here it is.
What places do you think are often crowded?
Well, anywhere, from a hospital to even a post office can be extremely busy at any time during the day. This could be because HCM city attracts thousands of people from many parts of the country, and that’s why it is the most densely-populated city in Vietnam.
When was the last time you were in a crowded place?
It was only yesterday. My mom needed a new kettle so she had me visit the local department store to get it. I thought it would be busy, but what I saw in there was unexpected. There were an awful lot of people just standing around.

How do you feel when you are in crowded places?
Being in such busy places always makes me anxious as I can’t stand all those noises. My mind tends to race and the first thing that comes to my head is how to get out of there as soon as possible.
Were you patent when you were younger?
No, not really. When I was a child, I was notorious for my bad temper. I easily got mad when facing any emotional stress. Occasionally I still feel embarrassed about it when recalling it.
How do you feel when other people are not patent?
I think it’s understandable, especially for teenagers living in a crowded place like HCM city. I mean, it’s not as easy as it sounds to keep a cool head when you encounter a complicated.

SAMPLE ANSWER
I have a friend whom I met in one of the trekking trips that I took to Rishikesh. We were part of the same team and so were most of the times having fun together. It was there that I came to know about how he left his 9 to 5 job, to do what he loves the most, travelling.
Arjun, my friend is a traveler and travels to new places and visits all the extreme locations. So, he has been to Ladakh, Rajisthan, Rishikesh and has done almost all the adventurous sports. But, what fascinated me more about him, apart from these adventurous sports is the fact that he had imbibed in him the feeling of adventure. He believed that it is not just about doing those exciting things which we find exciting but adventure is just moving a bit away from the comfort zone.
And it is in this way that you can actually live your life in the most exciting way. Meeting him then and over a period of time, I realized that in some way he was not just adventurous but a person who lived every moment of the life as the largest one. So, when everyone went to the pool for swimming, he went to oceans. When everyone was busy watching movies, he was creating stories. For him it was never adventure and in some way he made me realized it as well, it is about giving everything to this one moment.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS QUESTION
Why do some people seem to like taking more risks than others?
I suppose all people are different, some are naturally more adventurous and like to do things that other people would never dream of doing. It’s just in their nature, they like to experience dangerous situations or test their abilities doing dangerous activities, and in some cases of course the greater the risk the greater the reward, especially in business. So some people like to take more risks so they can get a bigger reward for their efforts.
Why do you think it is that some people like to take part in dangerous sports?
I think for many people, it is a way to get some excitement into their lives. When people thousands of years in the past lived in nature, they often faced dangers like wild animal attacks, but now many people just spend their lives sitting in an office. By participating in extreme sports, people can feel alive and get a rush that they can’t experience in normal everyday modern life.
Do you think people take more risks now than in the past?
It’s difficult to say. There are so many things available to do nowadays that weren’t in the past. Like, for example, extreme sports are popular nowadays, but in the past they didn’t exist, so yes people take more risks than before, but in normal life I think it’s probably about the same. We make decisions and almost all decisions carry some degree of risk – you either make a good decision or a bad decision and sometimes the consequences can be serious.
Even choosing a career, or a life partner, where to live, buying a car, buying a house, etc. all these things have some element of risk attached to them – and those risks were the same for our parents and probably our grandparents, so there are many risks that haven’t changed.
