IELTS SPEAKING INTERVIEW
PART – 1 INTRO
What is your full name?
My name is Smantha Sharma.
May I see your ID?
Sure, here you go.
Where do you usually purchase your clothes?
I used to go to the trendy shops when I was a student, but now I’m older and have little time I just like to go to a big shopping centre or department store and buy everything there. It’s more convenient that way and it means I don’t have to run all over town just for a few clothes.
Have you ever bought clothes online?
No, because I don’t trust their clothes to always fit me. I know a few people who order lots of clothes online and order a few different sizes and then send the ones that don’t fit them back, but I can’t be bothered with all that. It’s much quicker to go into a proper shop and try the clothes on there and make sure they are a proper fit.

Do people from your country think fashion is important?
More so these days. Our country wouldn’t be very high on the list of international fashion hot spots, but I notice people following certain trends more. Last year, there was a red trouser craze and everywhere you looked people had red trousers on.
What is your favourite item of clothing?
Probably my leather jacket. It cost a fortune and it makes me feel really confident when I go out in it. I normally get a few compliments also because it is quite slimming.
What’s your favourite kind of weather?
It depends what I’m doing really. If I’m doing something outside, I like the weather to be sunny but not too hot because it gets a bit uncomfortable after a while. If I’m inside, I love listening to the rain beating against the window and the wind howling outside.
What is the climate like in your country?
I’m from Ireland, so the thing people always complain about is the rain. It is right on the edge of Europe so we get lots of rain rolling in off the Atlantic. However, because we are an island it means that we don’t get very harsh winters and it hardly ever snows. I think temperate is the word to describe our climate- not too hot, not too cold.

SAMPLE ANSWER
I really like taking short breaks while I am working. So, after having worked for almost like an hour, I would go out of my seat and walk a little bit here and there, drink water and just completely close my eyes for some time and be proud of myself for the work that I have done for an hour.
I do it almost for everything. So, it could be while I am playing or working or for that matter while I am studying. It is very important for me because I believe that having a ten minutes break in every hour, not only allows me to push myself harder, it also helps me not to get drained by the kind of work that I do.

I am a software engineer and doing the relaxing thing makes me more committed and focused towards the work. Although, people go out and relax with their friends, I prefer doing this activity alone, so I have no one to talk to and can completely feel good about peace and silence and just go back to work with new mind.
The reason it works for me is because, I am not that sort of a person who can work a lot. But, then I have got dreams which I need to get fulfilled. This every hour break makes me feel as if I am having my quality time and I am able to relax a bit here and there. This allows me not to be exhausted or over whelmed by the work that I do.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS
Question 1: What do you do to relax?
Ans : My relaxation spot is talking to my mom. She is my best friend, my mother and my best guidance. Whenever I feel uncomfortable or need some time to relax, she is my go-to. Nothing is more comforting than hearing her voice.
Question 2: Do you think doing sports is a good way to relax?.
Ans : Yes, I think exercising is a good way to relax. It all depends on an individuals mindset and what helps to relax. This cools the mind of an individual, as well as exercising is good for the body. So it’s a win-win situation.
Question 3: Do you think vacation is a good time to relax?
Ans : Yes, vacation is another relaxing point. A break from a busy schedule and routine for few days is always good as it refreshes the mind, and one can get back to routine with a more happy vibe.
Question 4: Do you think studnets need more relaxing time?
Ans : Yes, I completely agree that students need more relaxing time as the pandemic has made them sit in front of the computers for long hours, and their eyes and posture is suffering. It’s been all the more difficult for them to learn through this new concept. Indeed it is more important for them to relax to cope up.
